Hi, our stone paint is not only for painting real stone, you can also transform wood, wood finishes, marble, tiles, and many more substrates to look and feel like natural stone. Giving the user a natural stone appearance at a fraction of the cost of natural stone.

We recommend that use of economy natural bristled brushes with Stonelux paints. Natural bristled brushes are not normally recommended for use with water-based paints, however, the softness of the bristles are ideal for applying Stonelux Paints. These Natural Bristled Economy Brushes have less bristles than a standard brush, which helps prevent the build-up of ground stone particles within the brush itself, resulting in ease of application and a perfect finish.

Stonelux paints contain natural ground stone and have been specially formulated to provide an authentic stone finish that looks, feels and breathes like natural stone. Our paints are not masonry paints, but are specialist coatings that are commonly used in the repair of both natural and cast stone (rather than removing and replacing damaged units), or when original stone features have been painted over with many layers of gloss (or other types of) paint that is either not possible or economical to remove. If you would like any further information on our products, please visit our website.

People who paint stone and brick are the same people who put linoleum and shag carpet over beautiful hardwood floors.

It was common to paint window sills on Victorian houses as it was to polish front stone steps, so nothing wrong in doing it and does not detract from the value of a property. Using the proper paint does no harm to the stone or sandstone so have to disagree with your view on that point. I take it you have also never lived in a house with wooden floors, although I somewhat agree with you on hardwood floors but it's all down to personal choice and trends at the time. I can never understand why people anywhere, anytime would want to use upvc windows. they look utterly ugly in a new house and even worse in an old house.

not all Victorian houses were built with 'stone' lintels and sills, some made from a form and shuttering approach with a type of primitive aggregate/ stucco. They weather worse than bath stone or limestone for example so alot of repairs down the line and sometimes painting is the only option.
