I had a VW bus new in 1977. Bought it new $7007 total. Unreal. It lived in Waikiki. It traveled over the Pali. Kids loved it. Color was that orange with cream on top.

He's right about the smile when you hit the seat. I'm on my 3rd VW Vanagon. I finally upgraded to a pop-top so I can stand up inside. There is such a loving culture around VW owners. No matter where you break down, a past or present VW owner will pull over to see how they can help.
