This video has been super helpful! I’m currently restoring my 1977 tin top van and am about to get into doing some much needed body work. Good to know where to start looking for rust damage!

The CV joint boots were cracked. That lets dirt get in and ruin the CV joints.

Thank You for this its so much appreciated even though I have already Purchased a 1974 1800 T2 Westfalia Van this is still of Great use to Me . I Would love to know what You think about adding leaded Fuel additives to Your Petrol ? Should I or Shouldn't I Best Regards Chris

Hi Chris, we're glad you found our video useful! 😄 In regards to your petrol question, if your engine is original from factory and no rebuild has taken place, uses stock valve seats (i.e. non-hardened) we would recommend using lead substitute for added protection. But if your engine has been rebuilt in the last twenty years or so, it's likely that hardened valve seats have been used which means a lead substitute isn't necessary. But always worth a check just to make sure the valve seats are hardened or not if you're unsure. Hope that helps, Just Kampers
