Renovating a house in Portugal - how it went

We renovated our apartment in Algarve Portugal in order to be able to rent it for more money. It was a mild renovation with a lot of cosmetic changes only, but this helped us put the apartment on the market for more money.
The renovation lasted 1 week and it was not a smooth sailing, like everything you are doing in Portugal. But also, like everything in Portugal, it turned out just great in the end!

And, yes. I did some painting myself this year. I advise doing it yourself because sometimes the professionals are more trouble, worldwide.

It can be so stressful trying to find Good honest reliable trades people who have a good hardworking ethic like us who only want the very best for the customer ..unfortunately in my experience the Mediterranean worker is Manana..unreliable lazy poor quality of workmanship and the price is never what was agreed…there is a saying if you can Piss you can paint and decorating attracts the lowest of skilled workers with their attitudes..you may be lucky to find excellent tradespeople and when you do treat them well..they are like Gold dust..stay well Luiza and look forward to more KZbin content.

Many Brazilians immigrants (not all) have no clue about respecting others’s space in regards to noise etc. Portugal just passed a law to make it illegal to make unduly loud noise in public places in order to quell this lack of respect. In the US black Americans have a similar culture but we have strong laws against that type of behavior here. Not trying to offend anyone but being extroverted and not respecting others’s space are two differythings.
