What a lovely home really put together beautifully, when I did my house renovation I put a washing machine/dryer, iron/board etc in a small area just off my walk-in closet so I never have to take my clothes to another floor. It keeps everything really organised. I also put a laundry/utility room upstairs for the same purpose for those bedrooms. Which is perfect also when I have guests.
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
thank you! and wow that is an incredible idea. I think maybe in the future if we ever move to a bigger house / have more flexibility with floor plans then I would definitely put the laundry upstairs. it makes so much sense not having to lug it all downstairs!

You both should be so proud of your stunning home. It's absolutely gorgeous. You are such a natural presenter, way more professional than half the people on TV. You should seriously consider a career in interior design/project management as you have done a tremendous job choosing and sourcing all the elements for your build. You have learnt so much it would be a shame not to continue in this field. Have you had anyone in to value your house since you finished to see how much equity you have added to the property?
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
thank you so much 😁😁 its actually something im looking into now I loved this process so much and learned SO much and I feel like I've only just scratched the surface of this industry. Yes we did get it valued it went up 35% in value 😱 but that isn't all profit obvs because of build spend and also we aren't selling yet but we did it to remortgage whilst rates are low and to get final bit of cash out to finish paying off the final bit of the build. So it worked out quite nicely!

This is absolutely gorgeous! I would love to know if the radiators provide enough heat given the size of them? I’m looking at putting in column radiators but to match the current radiator sizes they cost an absolute fortune so I’m trying to decide if smaller ones will give the same heat output.
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
thank you so much!! yes absolutely. they are so good!! of course you gotta make sure the BTU calculations are done for the room and we went for the ones that just fell into the bracket for the room size and they give off SO much heat. We bought a similar style one from Trade Radiators for our front room a few years ago and its rubbish - gives off barely any heat. So I was worried about going for these bay ones which are the same faux cast-iron style ones but they're so good. The triple column ones especially!! couldn't recommend them enough!!
@awirralaway2 жыл бұрын
@@Jessroseparr thank you so much for your reply! I can either have a larger (but v expensive) radiator in my living room behind the sofa or a smaller one under the bay window so that’s really reassuring to hear that your bay ones are good! Will definitely check out the triple columns ones too :-) And thank you for all of the home inspiration, I’m currently in the ‘everything is covered in dust’ stage so hopefully I can create something even half as stunning as your home!

Hi Jess, renovation looks fab you’ve done a great job! Can you tell me about the shutters in your front room/lounge. Are they two tier? As in do you have the option to open just the top half? Also what size Louvre are they? Thank you! In the process of choosing for my lounge and yours look great! Thank you :)
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so so much!! No they’re not two tier they are just one full set per window frame (so divided into four shutters) and they open individually. The two on the left bifold to the left and two on right bifold to the right. We actually never open them this way though we always have the lower slats closed for privacy and have the upper slats open for light 😀😀

Totally admire the home you've created - it's gorgeous! I have a random question about the sky light in the open-plan living room: how did you choose what size to make it? We'd like to do something similar in our ground floor extension but I'm also conscious our neighbours could peer in from above..
@Jessroseparr2 жыл бұрын
thanks so much! ok well initially we ordered them as large as we could for the space and how much glass we could afford. they're 2.2m x.7m but inside they're smaller because there is a wooden trim and plasterboard. So they're thinner than we imagined. Naively when ordering them that size we figured all of that would be glass but you have to account for the trim in that as well so when you're ordering do consider this. Anyway they're slimmer than we thought they'd be but actually I really love the slender look of them in the room now and looking back if I'd been given the option again I'd go for this slim look as it complements the long dining table under it and the sofa area. People always say go for the biggest windows you can afford and fit in a space but sometimes I think actually getting the proportions right for the room is more important. When I changed up the ensuite window for a bigger one I just went for the biggest I could fit in that space and actually its now a funny square shape that doesn't entirely suit the room and I've concealed part of it with a blind. So yeah sorry long story short I'd go with what proportionally will fit with your room. speak to an architect who can assess the space with professional eye and they'll be able to work out angles of neighbours windows and if they can see in. Luckily ours aren't looked in upon by anyone else's windows.
