When designers pick an anchor fabric (from which to pull the rest of the color scheme for the room) it's almost always too busy for my taste. I would have preferred something with less "pop" for a bedroom. I think pulling the color from the pale turquoise chair would have been perfect, perhaps in something knobby like boucle to add depth. Just leave salmon out of it if she hates salmon. Goldenrod and/or pale lemon yellow also add warmth without venturing into orange/salmon colors.

I was in a fabric store two days ago. Every fabric that reminded me of Sarah, I said, “Sarah would love this.” Once I even said, “Hey mom.” I presented the fabric and announced, “Look Tommy, would you start a scheme with this?” and swirled my hands in the air. My mom laughed. The lady that worked at the store asked, “Who’s Sarah?” (Because I referenced almost every fabric whether Sarah would like it) “Only the best designer in the world!” I stated with confidence.

Almost all of the makeover was amazing! That glass cover-completely stunning!! The headboard…? I would be recovering it when everyone left! Opposite of restful to my brain…looked more suitable to a child’s room print. I’m not sure why there would be a throw on the bed in the specific colour she disliked…that was weird.

The room was decorated in a way that the home owners could always upgrade if they wanted. The bed could be changed to king sized removing the side tables and installing floating shelves.

Sparkling crisp + light. Superb style, but I'm amazed a client would allow Sarah to make the call on changing a bed size. Such a personal preference.

The only thing I would have done differently- Bedside tables with storage. I need more storage in my bedside table. Otherwise it is so adorable. Love the bright vibrant colors.

I'm gobsmacked by the missing wall pre-glass. LOVE the glass!!! But with a child that age, hoooooooooow?!!?!?!?! I'd never sleep at night knowing that wasn't done.

Sarah, I have been looking at tiny homes, & what I learned is there is a storage system used often that utilizes underbed storage. In that system the bed opens up (like a toy chest where the hinge is at the pillow end of bed & opens up wide at the foot toward the ceilings) to reveal full footprint of bed that could be used to stash out-of-season clothing, bedding, or whatever. Although not usable for this episode, if you look into this, it may be a solution for similar challenges going forward.

The chairs and the table look like things that I put in my classroom as a new teacher, totally mixed matched and small sized. Does not look plush or high class. I did love the closets.

I love Tommy’s jacket and tie! 5 years! I have been living in construction for 20 years😳 that is what happens when you live in the city and you house is a 100 years old and needs a complete rehab and don’t have a million dollars. Dig deep!

I love this. I am at a place in my life where I need light, clean and simple. I wish Sarah was in Florida instead of Canada. I am now widowed, downsized to about 1300 sq ft and love my little house but I have to use as much of my old furniture as I can because it is quality that I won’t invest in at this stage of life. I like to see her splurges and inexpensive alternatives in other areas.

Sarah solved the small room storage, lighting, radiator size and placement, and open stairwell issues on a limited budget was achieved. With the footprint in place, the owners can upscale when it becomes more affordable.

All these years later, this is still an attractive, well designed space. The headboard fabric is still perfect adding just that right amount of interest and fun. Without it, this room would lose its element of interest. This is what good design does. Not found of IKEA. Sorry, it's junk, but I understand why it was used for budget reasons. Better pieces can replace it down the road if needed but I would still lean to the original design. A $5000 bed is not needed.

50/50 on this one…I would have asked to keep the original bed. I’m not sleeping in a Queen with my hubby…the Queen is in our spare room. The blinds are great but the eyelets are off putting for me - not sure why but they are. Everything else is nice.

Keep in mind you have to pay for it. Sarah doesn't do these makeovers for free. And you would have to pay her travel expenses from Canada to Florida for her and her entire crew. Can you not hire a local designer? If you're poor, then don't bank on getting a designer to do all the work for you for free and dumping a truckload of free furniture and decor on your yard, lol. That is way beyond your budget and not realistic.

I would love to know whether the walk way to the bathroom could have been turned into a walk-through closet. The gap above the wardrobes bothers me. It's just a dust trap. I would have far preferred the top of the wardrobes to be boxed in.

I like the closet storage they created but I don't care for anything else. It feels like a college dorm or kids room. It doesn't feel adult at all. Doesn't seem like it would fit the rest of the house. Normally I love almost everything Sarah and Tommy choose but this one was a miss for me. Especially the headboard and glass wall.

Designed for the designer not the homeowner….bet they change the bed, headboard and glass graphics as soon as the crew leaves. Why use colours the owners specifically said they don’t prefer, buy a cheap downsized bed and then over $200 for one chair and custom made drapes. Bet they find out shortly that it’s an inconvenience to have see through graphics especially as your kids grow and company is in the house. This is not the calm bedroom the client asked for.

If I remember correctly, when they did the casting call for this, they wanted homeowners who were 100% OK with giving Sarah 100% control, like they literally had no say as to what goes into the room. It's a risk, but it's not like they forced any of these people to sign up for the show. They wanted to do this, and the guidelines were clear.
