Ally..just a heads up. i see others have commented too. Ive lived in 3 homes with mold now, my advice would be to replace the walls, painting over them unfortunately will activate the mold spores & not solve the problem. The sickness thats come from Mold is life threatening. The spores get into the lungs & brain. I had loss of memory, lethargy, constant allergies, wheezing, muscle pain & so on. Its not worth your health. Please take care x

Being 54 myself, I remember how popular A frames were. Oh to be your age again! It doesn't seem like I'm 54 until I start to move or try to remember something LOL! I had that fire and desire to buy a house and make it mine. That dream came to fruition in 2010 when I got my first house at 40! And then my health tanked. I'm finally, albite slowly, on the mend-ish, some of my issues on have one cure and that is what'll happen in about 50 years haha ahhh well, I can live vicariously through you. Enjoy all that you have, life is good. Thank you for sharing with us.

My heart dropped when you mentioned mold, as someone who has and is dealing with mold illness with their entire family. Look up mycotoxins, way more harmful and harder to remove than the actual visual mold you can see. We have to basically get rid of everything we own, move and detox , we are very sick.

I’m glad they are taking care of the mold as it’s dangerous. I’ve been in treatment for months for mold and have to take a lot of medications/suppliments, like charcoal and toxin binders to rid my body of the toxins from the mold. Take care.

Love your videos Ally and seeing your newest adventures & progress! I just wanted to add- please please please be careful doing DIY work with mold. If there’s water damage & signs of mold on the wall, chances are there’s mold inside certain parts of the walls & under floors / base boards. It can get you extremely sick over time. Please be safe!❤️🫶🏻

Hi Ally, please Google Johnson Mold Story. It is my story and my husband's. We still are left with the effects from the mold. My husband and I are permanently disabled from living in our home that had mold in the attic. We had no idea that it was there, it was completely covered in black mold because a plumber didn't hook our bathroom vents out to the roof. Our attic had no ventilation and it was filled with steam from showering everyday for 18 years. We never looked in our attic! You are too young to have this happen to you! I wish you both so much health and happiness! I hope you're able to get your home completely and safely renovated! Take care and keep making videos, you're terrific at it! Xx from Vancouver Washington USA!😊

Drywall removal tip! Use one of those small powerful earth magnets and rub it over the sheetrock to find the screws, you can use a stud finder first. Once you find one, use a screw driver to dig out the mud, and then just unscrew with your drill attachment. Once you get going, it goes super fast, just make your way down each stud, and then measure over 16" to the next one. Then you can pull down whole sheets at a time. It's WAY cleaner and less dusty, and pretty darn fast!

Hi I really enjoy your content and mean no harm in saying this but please wear your PPE when renovating, even when painting and demolishing. Especially glasses/goggles speaking as someone with an eye injury. Something could easily get in your eyes and could cause a scratch or even chemical burn (paint). Be careful out there, again no hate just a friendly reminder for everyone! 💙💜

My wife and I really enjoy your channel but I did want to mention one thing. As a veterinary microbiologist (not a veterinarian), I saw where you harvest birch sap, presumably to make birch sugar. You should be aware that birch sugar is primarily xylitol, an alcohol sugar, which is often used as a sugar substitute in breath mints. While xylitol is not harmful to humans, it can cause a dramatic blood glucose drop in dogs to teh point of being life threatening. This is become more of a problem as more “Natural” products are being labelled as birch sugar rather than xylitol as a means of sounding more wholesome or safer. Since most people do not know that birch sugar is xylitol, it may be worth mentioning on your channel so that dog owners would be aware. Please check with your veterinarian on this, if you want to confirm what I am saying.
