Cleet, talk to your power company, you can get most lighting almost 100% covered for switching to LEDs. I work for a guy in upstate NY, he is an independent contractor, he goes to the location, gets engineered lighting diagrams, does all the paperwork for the power company, and handles getting an electrician in there to install the lights. It’s the only option that’s worth the money. Anything else, you’re wasting money

Good idea but the power company would only be able to light the driveway from the road upto the parking lots since those would be controlled by photo cells and are a set rate for the customers bill. Lighting the speed way bowl would be considered private since they would be operated behind a switchgear. The electric company I work for does not provide switched flood lighting fixtures, only photo cell controlled fixtures, as does everyone else. We do not modify lighting to work around photo cells. That would void warranty. We only provide dawn to dusk lighting at customers request. Hope Garrett can find a private lighting company to go with.

@@TGSamantha091 actually-actually, it changes depending on which facility you go to. Some marine corps forts do the susnset method, some army bases do a 1700 retreat sounding year round regardless. Reveille is usually at 0600, or 0630. None of them play the anthem afterward that I've ever heard.

I did FOH sound mixing for rock bands in mid to large size venues all through the 70's , 80's and early 90's, , mixed and listened many FOH PA systems owned and operated by national acts, and I can say the DSL horn boxes are some of the best the world has to offer, 4 DSL horn style cabinets and SUB boxes amped properly, will produce a wall of sound so clear and so big that it will sound like the voice of god

Can you give us a break down on the price? I see Cleetus is quoting $40,000? Four OS80 from M3tech shows $10700 (2675 each) and why does he need three, four channel amps to drive four speakers? At max the amps are $4000 so that comes to about $22,000, where do you think the other 18,000 went? Wireless mics aren't that expensive...

I loved this video for so many different reasons. @Cleetus McFarland not only do you have an amazing channel with interesting and diverse horsepower content, but you're a person with a smart business brain and a depth & breadth of knowledge in the most amazing areas. Operating heavy plant equipment, developing a 7 sec drag car, drifting a 900hp Crown Vic, or building your own jet boat, yep, Cleet is your man. Full respect to you brother with what you're doing and how you are doing it 🙏 Also, it was awesome listening to Pat & Pat excitedly nerding out on all things PA and sound systems 😃 It's awesome when people who are knowledgeable and passionate about something, get their time in the spotlight and even if I didn't understand a lot of what they were talking about, knowing it is something that will enhance the FF experience is enough for me. Finally, watching as you tested the PA with a playing of your national anthem was perfect. Actually the lights do flicker. At 60 Hz. You see the flicker on camera because the light flashing 60 times per second doesn't always line up with a camera's frame rate. It's not the light's fault and it's not the camera's fault. You can fix it two ways, PWM high frequency LEDs ($$$) and/or buy a camera that's capable of adjusting for flicker (not a guarantee)

I got chills when you guys started the national anthem, I am up near Seattle Washington you can't get much further away from Bradenton in the continental United States and I cannot wait to be able to come and enjoy an event at your facility. I will be planning my entire family vacation around it. Hell Yeah Brother!....Being an audio guy myself I'm so pumped for the FF system upgrade! Tying that system into the live broadcasts and recorded shows is going to be a Huge upgrade and no more cutouts. Once you get the other two main's up and tweek the angles you wont get any more phase-outs while panning your go-pro audio either until you point it directly 180 deg. across track. Buy more construction packs folks!! So Cleet can put 4 more on the other side of the track then you will be covered for the full 360! Poles and lights are gonna top it all off.

@@MythUnknown well he has to replace the poles sure. And it's a good time to swap if your going to. But the exsisting ones are HID bulbs that are quite efficient already. LEDs are better but the good quality ones are expensive This is not like at a house where they run every day for days for money hours. There going to be running once a week or less. You may never see a payback Not saying don't do it. But if your doing it to save money without doing calculations you are going to be very disappointed

Cleetus - on that Shure antenna you have a BNC connector (as best I can see it from England :-) They are not the most waterproof of the coax connectors, so you'll need self amalgamating tape from the cable up to the fixed connector body - especially with FL sized thunderstorms... I have several BNCs outside here (ham radio) - and they're fine for several years if taped over carefully. For you the limit may be UV damage to the cable insulation from your excessive sunshine (no-one at 52N is ever jealous of the Florida sun!) As others have said - lighting protection on your AC power connection is highly recommended - and you can get lighting protectors to go on antenna cables too. Since you want the antenna well up for best results they're a good idea Have fun in the sun

I think replacing the poles and upgrading to LEDs is a good idea. Those big old lights are like a big sail up there just waiting for the right breeze to knock the whole pole over. The addition of the LEDs will be much more efficient and cost effective!
