I personally think that this was Bob's house growing up and he's still sleeping in his bedroom and refuses to let Eliza redesign the style his parents left the house in. So Eliza feels kinda alienated in her own home and can't do anything about it and that's how her materialistic trait developed

For me, neither of the Pancakes are the victim. They’re both just kind of passive in their relationship. Eliza has the blue bedroom which also functions as an office and her own private space, since Bob would have the kitchen. They don’t hate each other, but they could both probably put in a little more effort.

The term "master bedroom" has zero slavery connotation. It was first used in a SEAR'S catalog in the early 1920s to describe the largest bedroom in the home, typically used by the master of the house. I love watching you, I hate seeing you stress over something some very young person said about a very normal, widely used phrase.

Thanks alot! yeah it's called that master bedroom and why should Deli change her words for one comment then make her feel bad, thats sorry. People also say main bedroom too so either is correct.

I think the issue most people see is that the term 'master' has such a painful history. The phrase may have been popularised by SEAR's, but because of the word 'master' and its history, the phrase has a much more sinister tone. There are a lot of widely used phrases that can be seen as insensitive, that doesn't mean we can't try to improve and exclude antiquated idiom's from our language. Although, importantly excluding phrase's like that is only a small part of improving. Deli attempting to change her language to be more inclusive is a good thing. Trying to be more aware and respectful never hurt anyone.

I appreciate you saying that maybe Eliza is just sick and hasn't been able to work. I am chronically ill and feel bad about not being able to work and I know she is just a sim but hearing this made me happy. Lot of people think if you don't look sick then you are faking it.

I'm so enjoying your remodels! ❤️ My head-cannon is that Bob and Eliza both had their own problems that contributed to their marriage struggles, and that when the Sims team added Iggy to the gallery with the addition of toddlers, it meant that they had finally reconciled and expanded their family.

I think you can be fit and a slob. Slob and lazy are two different traits in the Sims 4 and also in real life. It’s a beautiful build! I love the downstairs the most. That living room looks so lively.

Maybe Eliza is taking time to focus on herself and wellness because she's going through infertility, and maybe Bob is gloomy because they're struggling to grow their family ❤ I can relate.

I was thinking that it was just a guest storage room and as they don't get along anymore Bob sleeps in the guest room. So many possibilities xD

I would've kept the stairs where they were originally, but instead of them being 3 wide I would've made them 2 wide and then the 1 tile wide space left, I would've turned that into a small powder room with just a toilet and sink next to the stairs. I want to give this house a reno soon. I'm still working on the Spencer home. 😊

I like the idea for game play that they each have an individual room with the jack and Jill bathroom but after counseling and therapy their goal is to be in the master bedroom together and have a good marriage. Or you know alight it on fire and the whole marriage goes down in flames😅

The house turned out nice in the end but I would've loved to see a less extreme renovation in terms of floor plan etc. I kind of like that the Willow Creek houses are closed off. Gives them a bit of a European vibe instead of open floor plan everything..

As someone who is more of a Bob... feel sorry for Eliza, we're not easy to live with much less be in a relationship with. Also, I don't think it's fair or right to put the blame of someone's mental health issues entirely on someone else. It really bothers me that Eliza gets all the blame for Bob's obvious mental health issues. I've suffered with depression for years and I can tell you there is no one singular cause that got me to this point. I'm not saying that Eliza didn't contribute but to put the blame all on her... NO. Don't do that. That kind of mentality is what stops people from figuring out the roots of their issues.

I totally agree everyone constantly make her the villian and that's not cool they are both opposition Eliza want a lavish lifestyle and that's not wrong but Bob is clearly dealing with some stuff so it causes issues in there marriage but it is very wrong to just judge one person I think there storyline is deeper than we may think

Exactly! As someone who's been a Bob pretty much my whole life I couldn’t agree more. To put all the blame on Eliza is wrong on so many levels. It isn't Eliza's responsibility or job to "Fix" Bob.It's hard to be with me on my rough days. & I am so grateful & at the same time ashamed for that. & if some one blamed my loved one, that would just add more reason for me to feel like worthless POS

In French, the biggest bedroom is called the "parental suite/bedroom" which I like personally. Obviously not everyone in the parental room is a parent, but just thought I'd share 👍

In my Sims game, my dream home decorator sim has done up the Pancake home a few times. Their fam likes tropical decor, the color white, and the French style. And fishing and the violin. 😂 I'm proud of their updated house hahaha. Their Sulani themed master bedroom is amazing.

The pancakes in my game have a completely new home. I bulldozed the catastrophe they were living in and moved them to a smaller lot. They now have a girl toddler and a cute little suburban home together

I always imagined that Bob and Eliza's families contributed a lot of pressure toward them getting married sooner / younger than they should have. Thus, they have a lot of unrealized exploration of themselves. Also, Bob being more passive making Eliza frustrated and ending up taking control because otherwise no one will. Then, regarding the workout equipment -- it doesn't really suit the rest of the house, does it? Maybe Bob's room was originally a guest room, where things that didn't mesh just got hidden away. Regardless, definitely equal problems.
