I would build a small cornice or put up a small valance to cover the gap on your blind. And I would leave the laundry/garage door white on the inside to match the other doors and a darker gray on the outside. I really enjoy your channel, especially the renovation. TFS!

I like the shade over the sink. You can always buy/make a valance to cover the space up top. Black buffalo check would be pretty. Leave the door white as is. You want to inside to match the other doors. You can paint the outside door the same color as you painted the room if you want to match. The outside shed looks great. You guys did a super job.

Love the chickens! All the fresh eggs you will have! I miss that! As a kid, we had chickens and it was nice having the fresh eggs! Glad you were able to find a new contractor! It’s so frustrating when you are paying someone to do a on and they just won’t do it or do it so terrible. The wall by your bar looks fantastic!

Hi Hannah. Maybe you could add a small piece of trim above that blind in the kitchen on the backside to keep the light from coming in at the top. I really love the color of this new blind. What about putting trim on the areas where the shade does not cover? Excellent idea to paint the shed the same color as your home. It’s more economical, less expensive and cost effective. 👍🏻👍🏻

The wall looks nice. I'd either leave the back door white or paint it gray. I'd want the door handle to stand out. It's cool. In no time at all you won't notice the gaps by the blind.. Thanks for sharing.

I'm so glad to see the window by the bar fixed! I like the color of the kitchen blind better but preferred the more expensive look of the other one. I never realized how much a door knob can make a difference in the overall look of things. The black one really looks nice. When will you be decorating for Christmas?

I think the door should stay white on the inside and either dark gray or black on the outside (the black will show dust and dirt more than gray).

I understand your not liking the gap above the blinds over the sink. Maybe you could create a header/valance type treatment (not fabric). Sort of box in that space and take it low enough to cover the top. You’re incredibly creative so you could customize that space and make it look built in???

I have similar shades up in my home with the chain pulls. They do indeed leave a gap at the top and on both sides because of the brackets. I don't like that! I have been thinking of making Roman Shades. They are easy to make. They can be purchased also. Home Depot and Lowe's both carry them. They go all the way to the top of the window with a built in valance and go all the way to the window casings. No gaps! Yay! I am planning on making mine, room by room sometime after the first of the year, after all the Holidays are over.

I do understand what you are going through with difficult contractors as I have had a fair share of those. My home reno was a few years ago and the contractor initially said 2-months but it took almost 4-months instead to complete the reno. We were staying with my brother-in-law and his family. You can imagine the inconvenience especially overstaying for an additional 2-months and they are a family of six taking us in a family of four 😅. The end result was terrible we got cheated with cheap materials and now our walls are starting to crack everywhere. Oh well....that’s life!

I am so glad to hear that they are going to blow it on. My sister’s last house was an English tutor style house and it had stucco, The garage was also stucco and had some damage to it. She had to hire a person that specialized in stucco and even for the small repair on a corner of the garage they blew it on. I just thought maybe it was a difference in region because we live out here in Michigan and I didn’t know if the technique of putting it on had to be different due to the weather.

Just a thought maybe were you put your new blind up your husband can make a wooden trim like a half box to go over the top of it so you can’t see the gap you were talking about.
