I used to be proud to be Australian, I carried the banner of 'the lucky country' high, until the breeze dropped. Then I became ashamed. Thank you Tim Winton - what you have said here is what I believe most of us really are or could be. I hope your talk will open the eyes of all who choose not to see, and prick the consciences of our leaders.
