This rents for $250 per month. After 30 days you can return it for a refund, or you can rent for another month. Two months is the recommended treatment length and then return the device. If you like you can purchase at that point; the total purchase price was about $800 if I recall correctly that is inclusive of the two months rent. In my case it helped and if you have the means it is worth trying.

Thank you Dr. Thompson for a very informative interview. I look forward to your next interview with Dr. Eagleman. I hope he will have published research to review at that time. My questions are, why do we need to rely on data from the very subjective TFI survey? Isn't there a scientific test that measures and provides more accurate data on the pitch and db levels of our tinnitus so we can say that the db level has been reduced by xdecibels or the pitch has changed xhertz?
@sakenu16
@sakenu16 3 жыл бұрын
Think to track sound levels of tinnitus is hard. What some may feel is loud may not be for others, So it is subjective. Also the sound is not really in ear but sort of like a signal from brain that can’t be capture hence subjective. Otherwise ENTs would be able to monitor and still see an issue. Which makes solving this problem even harder because it is like looking for a solution to a problem you can’t see or hear to.
@treblehealth
@treblehealth 2 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. The TFI & THI are the best tinnitus measurement tools at this time. No objective tests yet. Pitch and loudness does not correlate to tinnitus distress.

@@treblehealth Dr Ben, do you know if it matters on which wrist? also is company thinking of creating a band like to use on apple watch? Think a partnership with apple on their watch would give it more recognition and bring in more validity to the product as well as possibly more research.

It doesn't really seem like it. No more likely than getting completely "used" to tinnitus. If it's there your brain is going to notice it.

Interesting and informative interview. I have few questions. Why not show the data? Was there an independent review of company data? Has any of this been published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal? Businesses, e.g., healthcare products, are always touting the effectiveness of their products because one of their primary interests is making money/ I have tinnitus and would love a product that works. I just want to see the "facts." and make sure hey are empiical and unbiased. Thanks.

I asked for research studies on their product and was told they are working on it. I asked for a list of audiologists backing up their statement “Developed by neuroscientists, Trusted by audiologists.” The list of trusted audiologists stands at two. Ben Thompson and Kevin Liebe. I gave it a try and my tinnitus spiked during the weeks I used it, which is why I reached out to them and asked about research, etc. Perhaps it works, but it seems far too early to introduce to people struggling with tinnitus, with the claim, “Finally, Peace.”
@JSDJerry

@@dalydaly which is why I can’t understand why Ben didn’t ask these questions and I am disappointed in him. I was a scientist before I retired. I know how test a scientific hypothesis. I know how to collect unbiased data. I’m sad that the neuroscientist in the video is hawking his product without showing the data. if you find Something that works, let me know. I’ll do the same for you.

Awesome interview. Question: Knowing we all habituate in different ways over time and usually do show a TFI score improvement over time, did the Duo show a statistically significant improvement in TFI score vs a control group that didn't use the Duo? If data not yet available, when will it be?

You had such down to earth answers, easy to understand and I never felt like you were pitching sales. I am so excited to be a part of your team along with Dr Thompson. Important to me.... I asked the question to your support team about wearing the device through out the day and they said that it was not really necessary.. It sounded like a good recommendation from your interview.
