Regarding the maskers you show in step 6, can you maybe provide a name of - or a link to - the device?

There is NO WAY I would ever try something like this -- especially if it could possibly make your tinnitus worse. I'll stick with the great Dr. Suzanne May of Treble Health who has helped me greatly in just 5-6 months. Also, most people (including me) have horrible anxiety when they develop tinnitus, so for Lenire to leave them out is not helpful. I started trauma therapy for my horrific anxiety/PTSD, and working with Dr. May of Treble health and my EMDR trauma therapist has lowered the volume of my tinnitus greatly. It's amazing. Also, I love my ReSound Hearing Aids/Maskers. This is what has worked for me. But it took me 4 years to find out this is what I needed. The various drs. I consulted with for 4 yrs. were worthless. Told me there was nothing I could do about it and learn to live with it. But I REFUSED to stop searching. SO GLAD I found Treble Health and Dr. May.

I believe Harvard actually already figured out how to induce cellular division in cochlear nerve hairs already and are basically trying to figure out an adequate transporter system to administer the treatment. Whether or not anyone will actually allow them to do this/or actually invest money and resources into making available to people who don’t have millions of dollars, who the hell knows. It’s always going to be three things deterring progress in medicine. Arrogance, preventing the addition that the current standard can and should be improved upon. Actual difficulty of breaking new ground scientifically, leading to further understanding that eventually manifests as some kind of usable treatment option, and finally, the business/politics side. Is it more profitable than the current standard? If no, it will likely not be implemented, no matter how revolutionary or vital.

Bottom line is that there are multiple reasons why people get tinnitus and therefore there are multiple ways we can try to improve reducing the symtoms

From my own 11 years of non stop research on tinnitus I would say this doctor is the most knowledgeable person on this topic of anyone I have heard. My conclusions on tinnitus very much mirror his conclusions. There is still tons of things to discover on this profoundly mysterious problem, but Dr. Golenhofen is absolutely on the right track. I would listen to a 100 more interviews with him.

One day out of nowhere I developed a high pitched hiss. It was pretty constant and driving me crazy. I nearly went into a panic thinking I would have to live with this always. I went to get a hearing test done. The technician said my ears were loaded with wax. She advised getting it removed before doing a test. I had the wax removed at my doctor's office. I didn't see any difference after the wax was removed. This created more anxiety thinking that the cause of the tinnitus was more serious. I went to bed that night and when I woke up the next morning my tinnitus was totally gone. Is it normal to have a delay to see results after having wax removed? It's been 2 days now with zero tinnitus. I lived with this for almost 2 weeks. I just pray it doesn't come back.

Very helpful! Love this story. I have a question, I usually wear hearing device in my right ear listening to crickets, that’s enough to keep me calm and completely distract me from hearing my tinnitus when I’m out. Did you wear maskers in both ears or just one?

Wow this helps so much. Thank you. I didnt have tinitus. My hearing is very good. I make music using ableton and can hear things that many people of my age would not hear. But since playing the new fortnite season yesterday at low volume in one headphone. That same ear now has a quite high sine wave sound now that is a constant tone. It started off like the sea of white noise then progressed in to the the sine wave. Very strange. Listening to this is the first time I have been free from the noise in my ear since yesterday. I feel so much for the people who have been suffering with this for long periods of time. It is like it can send you crazy. I am interested to see though if playing the same frequency as the noise I hear back at it would cancel it out. But I guess that would be difficult as the phase would probably be different. I'm not sure even if it would work in the sense that there is no sound in my ear as it is something in my brain causing it. It would be amazing to be able to work out what causes hearing sounds in our ears and be able to fix it. Some studies suggest vitamin deficiencies. Which seems feasible. Do you think that certain frequencies in a game such as fortnite could trigger tinitus even at low volumes or am I being too far fetched. Frequencies are life. It is what we are made of and I think it goes so deep I even loose myself in the possibilities. Thank you again for these beautiful sounds. This is so relaxing and calming. So nice in the background and I cant hear the sine wave at the moment while listening to this I am very grateful for your work. 🙏😊❤

There is no cure only temporary relief when you sleep. Do not believe anyone on websites that there is a cure. You have to accept it and learn to manage it, which is a personal journey. I wish everyone well and find some pockets of peace each day.

the big question that stay in the way of success of the treatmentis fear that already damaged hearing cells { hering loss/.Hyperacusis/tinnites} will be more prone to more damages than normal people would have ? So we need to protect ourself from loud sounds even far more ? ...it is really official otherwise because logically that is the truth..especially when noises create more pain in the ears. Please address this question with your professional opinion? Possably we need to use ear plugs with 70 max ds?

Due to my own negligence I have noise induce tinnitus. It is tolerable when outside or in a store or restaurant, but at home especially at bedtime its quite bad. i have wept several times over this problem which could have been so easily prevented. Waiting 2 months just for an audiologist appointment is ridiculous so I'm desperate to find something to ease the ringing until I can get a masking device.
