As I was watching her pull that really low chair up to the built in desk I immediately thought "that chair is way too low and doesn't look like it has any lower back support and I can guarantee there will be multiple comments below about it." lol but overall I loved this makeover. Such a great use of the space.

Yes a real cute office chair would be better, that raises and lowers. The ergonomics of that situation are bad. Her arms are going to rise up to reach a keyboard on that desk. Also it would be nice to see how much work it is to plug things in that situation. It wouldn't work for me. I think it would be better as a place to store books, or jewelry, or makeup. A cute bar stool and it might have made workable vanity.

great makeover, the style really suited the client. How comfortable is the desk chair btw? From the looks of it, it seems too low for proper computer use, but maybe that's the camera angle.
@jemma50
@jemma50 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, agree about the desk chair. I don't thing it's the camera angle, it's way too low to be able to work from it. It looks to me like a bar stool would be a better height for the desk...unfortunately, it wouldn't have the comfort. She could work standing up, maybe. I've heard people like to do that. ;)

It depends on the person, I would find it perfect (I actually have a very similar one) because I work or use my computer sitting with my leg(s) folded under me. Besides, the girl’s pretty tall and you can always plop a cushion under your butt😀 The ganing/office chair looked out of place before she got rid of it.

I love Gater and her work but she ALWAYS gets desk chairs wrong. Always. You can see her elbow like 6+ inches below the desk when she's sitting in the chair. No one could work @ that setup lol

Yes, would have been awesome too see, but bathrooms and kitchens can be so expensive to do. Although if I lived there and had the cash, the bathroom would have gone through a whole overhaul (moved the fixtures around to make it more functional and one could stand up and have a shower).

I LOVE this makeover (and I'm sorry to add a 'but' here), but after years and years you still haven't figured out desk-seating and it's so frustrating hahah. 😅 Try putting your arms up on the fold-down desk, like you're typing or using a computer mouse, from that chair height. Your elbows were at least 6+ inches below the desk. No one could work there for longer than a couple minutes at a time. 😫

Awesome makeover! I love it as usual. Transforming the hutch as a working area is super cool! However, the chair is just not working for this purpose. The seat is too low compared to the height of the desk top. A good rule of thumb is always having a 90° angle in the elbows and the knees while working at a desk. Margaree is going to be very uncomfortable while working more than a few hours. Apart from this, great job to the whole team!

The wall desk has not much available surface. That space is useless for eight-hour working (added to the holder chains and that unsuitable chair). Removing the owner`s table is a mistake. Also the directional change of the bed reduce space, I would have left as it was putting something triangular as headboard. The sofa I think should be convertible.

I love how you successfully made the living area (including the beautiful wood from the built-in desk) the focal point of the room. Then when you look at the bedroom area, it has it's own beauty but doesn't overwhelm the space. That is so hard to do in a studio. This is simply beautiful.

A redo of the shower/bathroom is more than a quick fix of decor. It would involve plumbing renovations and such, plus it's a rental so it would require the Landlord/Owner's permission (way more than it does for a little paint job). Notice they were using Command hooks and strips so they couldn't even put holes in the wall to hang things.

Studio makeovers are my favourite I think because they're the most substantial. A minimalist room is done rather quickly even though it looks really nice but a whole studio has so many different areas and I think that's why they're the most exciting videos for me. I am completely in love with what you did in this space, the colours and how airy and still warm it looks. The floor and the kitchen counter and the foundation of the room are really nice, I'm a sucker for warm hardwood tones and you did the absolute most with a really good base I feel like. Also how sweet is it to surprise your sister with this, Jubilee! That's such an awesome gift! Also, I used to live in an apartment where I couldn't stand in the shower because of slanted roof haha

I used to have a bathroom that we described as “too small to change your mind in”. 😂 the shower was under the roof slope, so it was definitely tiny. I could stand up in it, but I’m under 5’2”. My 6’5” partner at the time definitely could NOT stand up in it!

I am loving this studio space - it is so cute!! My favourite is the BEDROOM AREA, especially the artwork, the lamps and the side table. I do like hearing about the weather as where I live it is pretty much always sunny 😂

The results are absolutely charming and it is so nice that Alexandra makes sure she knows what the fortunate recipient of this makeover wants and needs. Margaree was obviously delighted and that is the best reward for a fine makeover.

Alexandra! This was so good! The draperies go perfectly with the bed. I love the bench, using the hutch is brilliant, the rug is like the draperies in reverse. So much to love in this makeover!

It's wonderful how the right size rug just pulled the various pieces of furniture together into a clearly defined living space. Very nicely done, without being overdone. Sweet, simple, clean lines which, with her plants, turn this into a comfortable attractive space to live, work, sleep and entertain.

Stuuuu-nning!!! That light fixture couldn’t be more perfect in that space. Head board - I’m going to do that. Love the idea of closing the work space at the end of the day, as long as the ergonomics and monitor visibility work. The living room is beautiful. You’ve used and filled the space beautifully Alexander.

Such a beatiful transformation! But I've notice seeing your vídeos that you use a lot this kind of dried plants and I think you may elevate your spaces and decor by using fresh flowers.

Love the different spaces and how you made each one work, but I do question the desk situation. How does everything plug in? Won’t the cord make I harder to close up at the end of the day? I feel like this wasn’t addressed, just that it can close at the end of the day with no cord in sight.
@tonalyn
@tonalyn 2 жыл бұрын
It would make no sense, not to use the the desk. Just unplug things and stick the cords in the cabinet when your pau hana. As for the chair a pillow is all you need.

@@tonalyn yes that’s exactly what I’ve done :) one long power cord that goes behind my large monitor, everything plugged into it, the I unplug one cord to close up the desk :)

I can’t be the only one who noticed how ingenue this is, the bed side could have use 2 side tables ( there was space ) , the office desk was painted so nonchalantly I can tell from the TV. I love your channel and I would never post anything that seems like a negative comment but this was too obviously done without any consciousness and it seemed like it was just for content. The design is lovely but I can see paint spilling from that wall desk thing 😵‍💫
