Renting a Bobcat Skid Steer to Build Out the Homestead

Hey there! Thanks for joining us in our journey of building an off-grid homestead that is self-sustainable. We are two regular people that had careers in the city and decided to sell it all and move to the country. We own raw land in the midwest and are well on our way to building out our homestead. In this video, Joe and I rent a skid steer to start creating the pad for our tiny house. We have never driven a skid steer so our good friend Tag came by to help give us a 2 minute driving lesson. Once we had that, we were well on our way! Stay tuned as we dig out our pad, lay rock, and create a level surface for our buildings.

Thank you, we really appreciate it. We bought a CAT at an auction the Saturday after we rented this. It is already saving us time and money!

Where do they charge 1k for two days? Thats a bit steep. In my area in Idaho they're 1200.00 for a week. Or 295-315 daily.

Yep it was about that here in the Midwest too. By the time you add delivery, insurance and tax, you are looking at $1000. It was $1600 for the week.
