The thing that makes Steve Carell such a great actor to me is how he can act so genuine whether it is acting stupid, serious, angry or sad, the genuineness just makes him that much more loveable

He is genuinely scary in Fix Catcher. I've noticed that comedians are very good at playing disturbing roles, especially him as Dupont.

Foxcatcher is a phenomenal film. I saw it twice in the theater and I was not only enraptured by the story, but by Carell’s performance. To me, he gave the best performance that year and I wanted to see him win the Academy Award, even though I knew it would be a long shot. It’s still amazing to think of how he began his career and to see how diverse he’s become. While him not getting the Oscar wasn’t a major surprise, it’s defiantly surprising how he never won an Emmy for The Office, not even for his final episode on the show, which I’d argue is his best performance on the show. Thank you for talking about Steve Carell, he’s a fantastic actor that is deserving of the success he’s received. Keep up the great work and take care!

My favourite aspect of Carrel's career is how he's played so many "everyman" type characters but none of them feel like the same guy. On paper Cal in Crazy, Stupid, Love is the same as Dodge in Seeking A Friend For The End of the World, but there's mannerisms and nuances which help them feel entirely distinct. It's something other comedically rooted actors often can't nail, where their roles are often the same charisma with different names, but no two Carrell performances ever feel like the same guy. I've loved and revered this man's work since I was a teenager studying acting and improv, and have long believed he's one of the greatest to ever do it. He's a man who's output we should treasure while he's still with us. This was a great video highlighting his rise to the screen and I really enjoyed watching it.

Ahh I love this deep dive into Steve Carell’s career!! I just want to point out something though. When Steve was hired for Little Miss Sunshine, The Office and The 40-Year Old Virgin hadn’t come out yet. At that point he was a relatively unknown actor. The executives wanted to hire Bill Murray to play Frank because he had name credit and Steve didn’t. I believe Steve was the perfect choice for that role, I’m glad they didn’t cast based on name.

Renzy, your comment sections are so wholesome, and I have to believe that's a reflection on you. You give out such wholesome vibes, lol. Some may not mind but unfortunately KZbin’s copyright system might, which I try to be overly cautious about 😅 I appreciate the kind words!!
@razzle_dazzle9 ай бұрын
@@Renzy_YT That's a good point, but I think a good rule of thumb is that if the video is on KZbin (like an interview or behind-the-scenes clip), you don't have to worry too much about the copyright. There are even channels that react to entire episodes of copyrighted shows (clipped up to avoid showing the whole thing on screen), so I think what you do falls safely within the bounds of fair use. I just found your channel and am currently binging all your videos 😅. Keep up the good work! And don't be afraid to consider a Patreon - it can help channels like yours that make high-effort, low-frequency videos.
