it's not that there's bad animation, it's that it lacks animation. it was mostly still images and cg, which made a lot of people upset and confused when watching the matches because of the lack of movements.

@alessandroripardo3137Ай бұрын
Actually the "bad animation" that people talk about is due to the lack of more "fluid movements", because in this season they've changed that to more Still illustrations panning or with effects on it. I guess this usually happens due to change on directors or studios that are involved in the production, or when the studio responsible gets more projects (animes) that can handle and the quality in some tend to reduce. I don't know if was the case on this season though. But for me, as long as the story is good and keeps us engaged, I don't mind this style that much. Just like Ahiru no Sora, which is a great basketball anime IMO, but used a lot of Still illustrations throughout the series
@ralliedcookies4403Ай бұрын
In this case it’s not the studios fault. The production committee was pushing deadlines and rushing them. Also the recent release of episode nagi didn’t make it any easier
@spin.chickenАй бұрын
Well, you should mind, honestly. They're mostly just dumping out manga still-frames with voices. We don't want to set a precedent for this type of animation... Or encourage studios to animate less "because we will still watch it and we don't mind."

@@spin.chicken tons of animes have already done this it's not anything new, and it looks pretty cool. The animation isn't worse in quality its just a different style, we aren't saying "because we will still watch it we don't mind" we're saying it's GOOD and its a different style.

Reo´s fixaiton on Nagi does stem from his ego. His ego is to be the creator of the best player. He wants to be key and essential for the best plays and the creation of the soccer star. The issue is the inflexibility of his dream, coz he fixated on Nagi being that player, when he should be also chasing Rin/Shidou/Isagi/Barou trying to adapt and evolve their plays too and then whoever of these strikers becomes "the best" he would become their right hand in the Championship and reach his dream of winning the World Cup. In a way it reminds me of Barou, coz Barou´s stubborness also sometimes almost holds him back from evolving. They both have this need to reach their goal in a very narrow way, and they lash out when something doesnt go their way (unlike Isagi who constantly adapts his route just to reach his end goal). Most other players will start changing their plays when they run into a wall once, Reo and Barou are types to run into a wall 20 times and then try to bring a tractor to tear it down. Nagi could lose a leg and Reo will still try to make him the best and Barou could lose a leg and he will still try to score instead of passing.

Bachira was similar at first, he wanted to find the Monster, not necessarily be the best with him but finally putting his Ego against/next to the real Monster which he found in Isagi and Rin, compared to the others he realised it as the weakness holding him back it's not the same but similar in having the obsession of the Monster

I really love how when an actual animator reacts to animes like this where people talk bad about it. Thing is they don’t know the work put between each drawing and each motion they do. I understand they are upset because they aren’t getting what they picture soccer/football looking like in the anime. But they still did a great job. Even if they are freeze frames id say I’m pretty satisfied because it was made. Now that we got the final episodes of blue lock everyone is turning back and saying that blue lock is amazing and that the animation rocketed which it did. Those last episodes were amazing. I’m sure sometime in the future once season 3 comes we will get something amazing.

Coach is so good person 😮 actually coach, people were complaining about the less movement and lack of animation and png sliding in the episode 2 and 3 so glad that you didn’t mind it😊 I also didn’t had any complaints about it well the problem for bad animation was the deadlines and the main “PRODUCTION COMMITTEE” the 8 bit studio took up so many projects this year that they didn’t have enough time or resources to produce good animation for blue lock, compare to season 1 when they had good management for the show. I still appreciate your understanding 🙂

"I think 'demo' means 'but' in Japanese" correct! People really underestimate the power of anime in learning Japanese. It doesn't replace proper study obviously, but I've found that watching anime and listening to a lot of J-pop and J-rock (and checking the lyrics for the songs I listen to) helped me learn a lot of vocabulary, and made the basic grammar lessons easier to grasp because at that point I've already been consuming Japanese media for years and picked up on these grammatical patterns subconsciously. It's how I learned English too, now that I think about it. Also, related to a previous reaction, I remember one time you were trying to match the subtitles with what the character was saying, but couldn't, and that's because the sentence was divided into two lines of subtitles, and the Japanese sentence structure is opposite to how it would be in English (not always, but often). As an example, in English you'd say "I've been watching Blue Lock lately", but in Japanese it would be something more like "Lately I've Blue Lock been watching". That's even assuming you'd be using first person pronouns, as you can omit pronouns and still be understood by context. This concludes my mini rant, driven by my excitement over seeing you learn a new word in a language you don't know, because that's just awesome and makes me super duper happy. Sorry for the long comment!

I like Reo a lot since this match. He's still glued to Nagi, sure, but he wouldn't even accept Nagi back into his being when Nagi encouraged him to, after that performance. He knows he needs more, on his own. He wants to play with Nagi as the end goal, he wants to make Nagi the best striker in the world. Honestly I imagine he'll become a midfielder or something later down the line, maybe a defender, but Sae shows me a midfielder that probably wants a great striker as the ultimate pairing. I'm excited to see moments like this, where Reo's ego exists, outside of Nagi, even if its for Nagi.
@zqasadiozАй бұрын
The bad animation is to do with the huge amount of still frames. The art is great as you point out but has nothing to do with the animation itself. This is only a huge deal because many manga readers deem this arc to be the best in the series so big expectations were held. Unfortunately the staff were made to work under strict deadlines which lead to it being pushed out like this. There was a guy who worked on these early eps and had his work (which had fluid movement) scrapped and was replaced with more still shots.
@LexiandАй бұрын
What about additional time or that additional scene? Also, remember the movie, in there Reo's ego is making Nagi number one but it begs the question what if Nagi is not number one. Reo is still not there yet because he is still not essential to Nagi's playstyle

I think you keep mixing up art and animation. The art this season is phenomenal. It's the movement (or lack of it) during matches that is lacking. Like what you said about that towel. Yea I’d prefer if Reo started playing for himself because I feel like he’s kinda holding himself back by still wanting to improve just for Nagi. Also, was there no Additional Time after the credits?
@Kunoichi4ever4Ай бұрын
That aint fully true nor untrue. Reo has a different goals than most players, he is fixated on winning a championship. Reo correctly assesed he himself isnt a genius striker and his talents is much better suited to be a playmaker (which those can break or make strikers), but incorrectly fixated that the only genius he can make good plays for is ..Nagi. The whole idea of Reo is that he is arguably the most flexible player, as the most flexible playmaker he should be chasing the no 1 striker...which is NOT Nagi. His golden ticket to be on the U-20 team is to be essential for the no 1 striker´s best performance, which once again - that aint Nagi. Even if Reo becomes again essential for Nagi´s game, as long as Nagi is not a better striker as Shidou/Rin/Isagi/Barou, Reo wont make the team, coz nobody needs a support for the 5th best striker -.- And I get that that is probably part of the appeal for Reo, that he would be essentialy the creator of the best player, but to create the best you must understand the best, and as of now - I think the best is Rin and Reo shoudl be chasing after Rin to improve himself. BUT its a rough one with Reo, coz he never once didnt get EXACTLY what he wants in life, so I do kinda get why he doesnt see it even to re-asses and adapt...To maybe change his dream from "winnign championship with Nagi"to "winning championship with Isagi/Rin" It is kinda like Barou, both Barou and Reo are extremely fixated on their own way to an extreme detail, it their way or no way. But hey - maybe it works out, sometimes stubborness can bulldoze over reason and win out.

okay, i think we're confusing good illustration with animation. As well, alot of the art has been taken from the manga, and some of those artistic line choices(like the edge thickness) are just manga->anime panels. Yes there is alot of good illustration, showing details in the background, but overall, when comparing this anime to other animes, the movement is lacking by modern standards. What people are arguing is bad animation is the lack of animation/movement and the over use of animation tricks for longer runtime.(which is what is impacting the quality you will find later on). One of the reasons people loved Haikyuu was the animation being fluid, and capturing volleyball.
@Bolts17Ай бұрын
I think most people are just making a bigger deal than it is saying it is "really bad" or so, but its not and the moving still shots which are used for a lot of different animes look really good especially in blue lock because they go over the top with it which is why i'd still put the animation over animes like fairy tail, boruto, and my hero tbh.
@manueldelgado5336Ай бұрын
Coach, you have already seen a bit of the bad animation. Here, bad animation does not equal bad ilustration. It mostly refers to it being more like a PPT, instead of movement. Some even prefer a bit lower quality ilustrations but more movement in the game, which may be even more important in sports anime.

it seems like people don't know the difference between drawing quality and movement. Nobody is saying the drawings are bad. The quality of the animation is poor, which means there is bearly any movement besides computer generated one (cgi). Most of the time anime is using still images and panning. The most important thing in sports anime is the animation. People are especially mad at blue lock since it was the best selling manga in 2023, so its only natural to expect a good quality, but people got none of that. First season was average at best in terms of quality (besides first episode, and a few moments during the season), but the second one is even worse.
@Bolts17Ай бұрын
@@p3rry45 The most important thing in sports anime i would argue is the story, blue lock's animation is still really solid, and they have an amazing soundtrack and story to go with it. I would take this animation over area no kishi/captain tsubasa any day of the week, and not to call those bad i like both, but specifically area no kishi's hype moments aren't as cool/over the top as blue locks. I think people do know the difference between the animation and illustrations but sadly it's just trendy to hate on popular stuff now adays.
@p3rry45Ай бұрын
@@Bolts17 i couldn't disagree more. Plot in the sports anime usually is really plain and simple (for example a team taking part in a torunament - it's not complex at all) and that's fine, as long as the matches are entertaining. And for them to be entertaining they have to be visually good. So as i said the most important thing is the animation in this genre. And blue lock's animation is not solid at all. It is beyond average most of the time in season one, except a few moments and disgustingly bad in the second season. I saw your other comment where you said "animation is not bad, it's just different style". Yeah, it's the style of bearly making episodes in the last minute, because of terrible scheduling and lack of animators. It looks cheap with overused auras and heatwave effects. People are not "hating on popular stuff nowdays" its justified critique of a bad show. And to be clear this comment is not critiquing the story or anything provided by the manga. I'm up to date with blue lock and i think it's a fantastic manga with amazing art, but the show is nowhere near that.
