Hi Coach, just wanted to add something that you might have missed: Sae Itoshi's style of soccer is passive, counter-dribbling where he takes the most efficient route to dribble past someone. In other words he analyses your patterns and destroys you with your weak point. Meanwhile Itoshi Rin's style is more "insane and destructive" because instead or capitalizing on someone's weakness like most people would, he bets that he can beat the opponent at their greatest strength, so he draws them out. Essentially hes literally the best at every skill: better than the quick footed defender at acceleration, better than the monk guy at getting behind opponents, better at dueling than the doberman guy, hes even better at dribbling than yukimiya, charging than barou and the list goes on. its insane that while every other character excels at one or two things, rin excels and is BETTER in every single stat and skill.

yes, you're right, the manga authors did a lot of horror stories before bluelock. that's why the art style looks so different to other sports series.

people complaining about still images don't understand that the animators had to choose between mediocre animation with no detail or no animation with insane detail. they couldn't ever pick both, and they made the right choice. the few moments they got away with animating somewhat better while keeping the details (shidou's goals) made it worth the suffering of staring at a powerpoint. besides, even without movement, they managed to maintain the authors' style that is clearly influenced by horror manga, and that shows just how much they loved working on this project.

We have to acknowledge that rin and isagi were the best players this match, isagi connecting with everyone with rin with yukimiya with bachira in the beginning and nagi isagi was all around the entire match and rin got his goal early but also went super crazy at the end; we should also acknowledge how he made all the defenders use their specialties and continued to make sae use his special move as well which surprised sae because he realized at that moment for that second his brother surpassed him. Then all that leading to isagi scoring the final goal. It was beautiful

Something great about the last goal it's how Isagi manage to understand the situation in seconds and dicide to stay in the offensive. The only one who constantly believed in his goal till the end was he. The fight between Rin and Itoshi was understood from Isagi pov, that's why the snow where puzzle pieces. As if Isagi was expending his domain and making his last and best move. I loved how it seems like Rin slides Itoshi's head with the ball. Very "samurai duel" like.
