Saw these guys quite a few years before this - as a HS junior on a college visit to Depauw University (their "Little 500" weekend, their biggest party). Styx and REO played at tiny Bowman Gymnasium to a packed and most enthusiastic house. REO opened for Styx (if memory serves) - but REO were the home town boys and tore the house down. Richrath was, as usual, on fire. (Styx was great too ... but REO was what I came to see - knew some of their roadies from Champaign). I saw them again much later, in larger arenas - and they were awesome. But there's nothing like seeing great bands in a small venue. That whole weekend was a great memory (well, some of it goes unremembered) - REO was definitely the highlight. My first raging hangover the next morning too.

I am pacing around in the last few days maybe hours before my best friend and life long buddy passes away and trying to think what to say at the funeral. She and I have already said our goodbyes, and I think her spirit has begun it's journey to the other side. I know her mind left a day or two ago. This video reminds me, heck, transports me to those days when we were blazing the back roads in her 67 Mustang, blasting to REO :)

I was at this show. When Gary did his guitar solo we didn't want him to stop and he obliged by playing almost a whole concert length. Incredible show!

I saw REO in the Omni Arena (not in Atlanta any longer. Here in Atlanta we have to keep updating with new venues, bigger and better.) We saw REO in 1979. They were absolutely fantastic live! Even better than the studio recordings.🤩

Hey @KennethHooker-x9m I'm 61. The first time I saw REO was in early 1981, in Chicago here, while I was still in high school as a senior. One of my buddies waited in line at Ticket Master for hours so we could get the best seats possible- remember those days? He got 2 tickets for 2nd row center and 2 tickets for 7th row center! What luck because he was about the 15th or 20th person in line. I got one of the 7th row tickets and the other 7th row ticket was for my buddy's friend who was away at college- he was a year older than us. I had never meet this guy before but if he was my buddy's friend, well, he must be a decent guy. As it turned out, the concert was excellent, his buddy was cool and his buddy became my very best friend until this day! I've seen REO 3 times but that first time was, by far, the best.
