@gregorymacdonnell79144 жыл бұрын
@ ButterBobWorth Please do not mention Dokken and Lynch in the same sentence as the other guys who are worth mentioning. You are way off if you think George Lynch had a single thing to do with influencing any real guitarists. He was a smoke and mirrors player. He played little phrases and recorded them all on tape, then the engineer spliced the master tape together to form a cohesive solo. He was not able to fluidly play. I know that even the greats "punch in" solo parts that were tough to do in a single take...hell even EVH did it on "Push comes to Shove, because he could not make his mind up on a single solo for the master. So he "punched in" a few parts. You can hear it when you listen to the solo.But that was rare. Lynch was Warren DiMartini , watered down, or light. LOL. DiMartini is fuckin great though. If you play, you should know all of this...so I am sorry for rambling on to ya man. My apologies. We can agree on all your other stuff without a doubt though, that is for damn sure R.I.P. Gary, we miss ya!

That smile GR has when he plays guitar is so infectious. I have fun just watching that guy have his own fun. Also, I get a kick out of moments like at 1:57 when GR brings the house down with his guitar solo, smile, and body language and then KC tries to upstage him with some goofy leap and back pedal movement to the microphone at 2:09 . Sorry KC, but you'll never be GR because GR was a genuine person with a down-to-earth personality who was talented beyond belief. Because of that, it was GR who connected with the fans.

We can compliment people without having to put others down or make stupid assumptions of why someone leaped in the air while they were rocking out. It's rock 'n roll, dude. I too "leap" when listening, and there's no one around me at the moment to "upstage". Perhaps the person leaping is smiling and enjoying the sound too, the one they're making as well as the one Gary is. I doubt it you knew either one of them so you can't say what personality one had and what the other did not. Calm down!
