Back in the 1970s, I was in the Navy deployed to the Western Pacific and had opportunities to hear the many fine Filipino bands doing covers of all manner of music from C/W to Soul to Rock and to this day I am impressed with the skill and musicianship. These young men are worth carriers of the torch.

The guy playing bass doesn't even seem to be trying, and his fingers don't seem to move much, and he's looking around like he's got something else on his mind, but he's playing killer bass lines and singing harmony! On so many songs the drummer and Ron (guitar/keyboards) sing together and it sounds like one single voice. Someone is shooting this and handling the mixing board and doing a killer job of that too. Philippines my ass, these guys are aliens from outer space.

Yes they are now I believe. This is no doubt because they are sooooo freakin' good. But there are also very good cover or show bands prior to them in the Philippines before. Unfortunately they didn't have the technology that the REO Brothers have in today's time. Had KZbin become available during the 70s and the 80s, probably there are so many cover bands like the REO Brothers the world can Watch and know. I bet viewers around the world would get confused who will be their favorite then. But I can say that, the REO Brothers would have been one of the most famous or one of the top-5 then.
