Idk about your camera, But my inexpensive camera I played with settings and found I tuned lights off and control button off, And wow night vision was much better,you can see colours, try it , good luck...

why is it Reolink stopped producing the 20x optical PTZ Cameras??

Not sure about this, much more expensive in the UK and I find with Reolink that the pixel based alarm generates far too many false ones from spiders moths etc. Also any PTZ should offer a corner mount bracket.

Does this camera automatically track movement? I was in Florida years ago and recall seeing this MASSIVE PTZ camera (probably older tech) that followed us when we walked by. It seemed to be automatic. GREAT crime deterrent!

It's called auto tracking and it's nice for larger areas but you need to have fixed cameras on anything important and have a camera like this for overall viewing and hot spots.

Beginner here. Do you have a housing for the camera wires outside or everything goes inside the wall after installation?

The connectors can be placed inside or outside the house. If the RJ45 connector is placed outside, you need to install the weatherproof boot cover that comes with the camera. You don't need any other separate housing for the connectors.

Hi, at 5:19 you show the camera installed and bottom cable along bottom edge of white trim. But, I can't see how this wire is attached to the extension cable which leads into the house ( where is the entry point in the picture ) ? Thanks :)

The cable is passed through the metal mesh soffit vent into the attic. I cut a 1/2" hole on the soffit vent which is made of soft aluminum. The reason is hard to see is because I spray painted the cable white after installation so it looks nicer.

Well I can give you an update here. Not much has changed. It has been running nonstop 24/7 since I installed it. It records 24/7 for the cameras connected to the NVR. The Reolink app works great. I can view remotely anywhere I have data connection. There is also a Reolink desktop app which I use to download any video clips and works fine. So no issue with the system. Keep in mind this is not something you log in and watch everyday. There are weeks where I never have to access it unless something happen and you need to review the video.

If using POE will the dc in power a mic?

The DC input is an input port meaning it does not output any voltage to power the mic. You have to power the mic externally using a separate power supply.

Is your image stretched when viewing it the app? I have a RLC-423 too and the image is always 4:3, not 16:9 format. How come yours looks like 16:9 format?

It's been awhile since I set the camera up, but check the setting for Encode and change the Resolution from ‘D1’ TO ‘2560x1440’
