Jamaal Bowman is facing an onslaught from an AIPAC-affiliated super PAC that has spent $14.5 million to remove a critic of Israel who is calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. Fellow Squad member, Rep. Do we have a real issue of money in politics that needs to be addressed in this country? Absolutely Yes, without a doubt! That said, Bowman should lay in the bed he made for himself. Too many of these "progressive" candidates are enamored with looking the part and saying the right buzz words rather than representing the interests of the people that elected them. Bowman, rather than work on the behalf of his constituents was more concerned with his status as a member of "The Squad" than representing the people that eventually came to be his undoing: the apathetic voter, struggling to make ends meet and completely disillusioned with the system. By the time he began paying any attention to them (when he needed their votes) it was a lost cause. People aren't apathetic without cause and they surely do not refuse to show up and vote because of money. These are the downtrodden, economically disenfranchised and those who are sick of being lied to. The (far) left should be mindful.
