Tom Emmer is a joke. The difference in prep is that Buttigieg is easily intelligent and socially aware enough to play Vance - all he has to do is be slimier and less likable. Emmer can't do anything but be slimy and unlikeable, making him a pretty bad choice to play Walz. Or be in congress at all - it's only his spectaularly incompetent colleagues that have kept him out of the spotlight for being a jackass. We may lose the Senate on pure math (and Montana/West Virginia no longer being able to stem the tide of division), but they threw the House away, and won't get it back for awhile. Flake was never likeable, but at least he got out quick when he came up against Trump, rather than get down on all fours like Graham, Rubio, and Cruz.
