House Intelligence Committee chair Rep. Mike Turner, Republican of Ohio, tells "Face the Nation" that amid heightened terrorist alerts, the Biden administration needs to "declassify the information of the terrorist threats that they are seeing so that there can be a public discourse."

I am extremely upset with the Republican party and feel truly disappointed. All the complaints about the issues we face, while at the same time criticizing the Democratic party for inactivity. Yet, they refuse to sit down and make a genuine effort to help with border security. It feels like they are saying, "I can help you, but only if you vote for us first." It seems like Republican elected officials don't care about what's happening in our country. The Republicans are not showing strength, but rather sitting on the sidelines, cheering for the opposing team. I urge everyone, including Republicans, to vote for Democratic candidates who are willing to face the challenges head-on, rather than shying away from them.

It's sad that no matter what the right thing is, it will only be considered to gain political power. Once political power is gained, doing the right things should be the priority if we are to be taken seriously as a nation. We also could use some coherence and consistency in policy; the values we promote abroad but often fail to enact by passing meaningful legislation here at home seem meaningless, especially for things that the majority of Americans already agree are needed. We agree but our will is subverted time and time again.
