Emotional pleas are not gonna power an ocean liner weighing millions of pounds across the ocean by electricity only. Currently, if you had a full EV truck that needed to haul an EMPTY 2 horse trailer from point A to point B...you are gonna get 25 miles to a full charged battery. Possibly as little as a quarter of what a gas powered tank gets you. That is entirely dis-functional for society. Now apply this to a 220,000 TON container ship carrying many more tons of cargo...purely by battery. You see how utterly foolish this sounds and why she could only reply with an emotional plea. The idea is that it doesn't have to make sense, we don't have to have it all figured out, we just have to do it and fix the mess later. That is a horrifying policy position.
