Yup. I will add that goes. It has been self-governing since 2005. Hamas has been the government in Gaza since 2006. All of those casualty numbers are coming from the Hamas run ministry of health. Also, most of the hospitals are run by charities and international organizations, all of the public education/schooling is provided by the UN. The reason there is no economic development in Gaza is because Hamas takes a cut of every transaction that takes place. They also redirected development grants and material for infrastructure away from civilian and public infrastructure in order to build their underground tunnel network.

Most people in Gaza have no work. They can’t leave that tiny area to advance their training or get jobs. Netanyahu has been supporting Hamas for about 15 years, because he wanted to weaken the Palestinian Authority, which was open to negotiations. He wanted a vicious and unreasonable enemy, gave it control over all the aid entering Gaza and allowed outsiders to send it money. Hamas was able to extort obedience from the people in Gaza by withholding food and water, and dissidents are murdered. With Israelis thinking Hamas represented Palestinians, it was easier for the fascists now forming the government of Israel to allow and even encourage the violent removal and murders of Palestinians in their homes on the West Bank. There are no clean hands in the rulers on either side of that wall.
