Thank you. This is the first video I’ve found that gave me a clear explanation, but also has a closeup view. Most videos are so far away I can’t see what’s going on. Appreciate it!

I was able to fix it with this guide! First time soldering, but wasnt that bad. Just made sure not to use too much solder.

Hello, i have the same problem on the capslock . If it the first switch from the line, I need 2 jumpers or 1 jumper ? I'm having a hard time figuring out which part I should connect it to

the problem still persists in Illinois in a public building or even the public itself with smartphones,tablets, watches but remember that always will distract and cause a nuisance.

cant u just solder it back even without the pad bc the soldering metal will replace as the pad?
@tokentech3318
@tokentech3318 Жыл бұрын
You would think that and i tried but it didn't work, the soldering doesn't fix the broken connection between the pad and the PCB trace, at keast not consistently and thus this method must be used.

what if the socket isnt phsyically broken off but just is no longer working. mine is still intact but it wont output the keystrokes

I doubt its a connection issue but something else then. Already try a new switch? You can jumper contacts to test.

can you help me with my problem? mines hotswap as well. the problem is my letter y sometimes it registers when u press it and sometimes no so what I do is press it harder then it will register. I recentl modded it with eva foams on top of the pcb and tempest mod/tape mod at the back of pcb.
@tokentech3318
@tokentech3318 2 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, maybe the foam is conductive? Or maybe it's from a diode connection going bad. I'd take it apart and inspect with a magnifying glass

Man i did that, and it restored continuity but the button in the middle still doesnt work. Wth am i doing wrong
@tokentech3318
@tokentech3318 2 жыл бұрын
There may be more than one broken solder, or you connected the wrong compenents by accident. Try using a magnifying glass to further inspect the traces and state of the solder

@@tokentech3318 pretty much on my keyboard k95 corsair, the y axis isnt obvious but the diode socket was broken as well (on "w" key) and i connected it to the diode on "2" key and it restored the vertical continuity i guess. It works now. Thanks for the vid.

Can you help me? Everytime i press any key within the row the whole row get pressed/activated
@tokentech3318
@tokentech3318 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what can cause that, maybe jumpering the wrong side of a diode causing the firmware to think you are hitting all those keys at the same time?

@@tokentech3318 i even use tweezers to make sure if it’s the switch that is causing the problem. But no, anything that i press within the row of the esc key everything in that row gets pressed
@tokentech3318
@tokentech3318 2 жыл бұрын
I suspect diode jumper placement - assuming you have attempted repairs. If you haven't attempted repairs yet, I believe one of my symptoms was multiple switches in the row triggering due to one broken socket

Can't you just solder the broken socket back to place...
@tokentech3318
@tokentech3318 2 жыл бұрын
If that works for you, great! The vid is for when the pad itself comes off and breaks the trace connection to it.

My best advice is to join the level1tech forum as there will be many more people there that have more knowledge than me so it would be a tag team of help. I'm on a work trip and my hours and access is funky right now.
