I love your reaction at the end. Going to try this with my mower. Thank you

Good fix and a lot easier than trying to bond the old piece back on.. You don't need loctite on the bolt though, it's meant to be user removable to adjust the cutting height, hand tight is good enough. The impeller and shaft rotate counter clockwise and self tighten in use.

Brilliant. I'm going to try this because my flymo sounds like an industrial tool 😊

How is the impeller held into the shaft?

Nice fix. I now know how to take one of those apart!

Brilliant - my solution would have been to put the original piece back sandwiched between thin plastic onto the other part of the impeller - say using yoghurt pot plastic on both sides with epoxy or superglue - glueing some plastic weight on the other side if needed to balance. But each to their own and yours is a lot simpler.

I thought the same. I've used food packaging plastic to reinforce a thermostat switch and a washing machine door lever. Great stuff 👍

Hey, I've got one of these and the part that goes from the plastic motor end, to the impeller does not sit flush. It moves a lot and the mower is really vibrating. Took everything else apart from it's only the impeller that's loose, any ideas? Can I use something to get those splines tighter and not move? The impeller is not damaged. Cheers!

You don't need to glue the bolt in place nor tighten it as much as you have done hand tight is more than enough .

Your impeller came off really easily. What do you do if the impeller will not come off?
