I was sent these nail treatments by @opi to try over the course of 14days.
#nails #pr #beauty #makeup #unas #nailart
The application process is easy, but I will say, it was confusing reading the back of the box, online info, & a video that's also avaliable.
So hoping I'm breaking this down correctly:
-First, you probably want to give yourself a Mani (no polish just clean up) just because you don't want to mess with your nails in those 6days of treatment.
-Once you're ready, go in applying Repair Mode 2 times a day, letting it penetrate for 10mins each time you apply. You continue this for 6 consecutive days.
(Nail Envy starts on day 7)
Day7
-I did a light Mani again.(shape & cuticle clean up)
- Start with 2 coats of Repair Mode letting each application sit for 10mins.
-Once Repair Mode had time to penetrate, apply a layer of Nail Envy & let dry for 1-2mins.
-Repeat for another 7days.
(14total days of treatment)
-On day 7, you can remove & restart the process or go about your normal nail preferences.
My thoughts: (UPDATE BELOW)
First I want to state I wasn't expecting a full 180 with my nails. I have damage from years of teaching myself nail extensions, gel manis, etc That being said I was expecting to see some improvement.
As stated in the video, I didn't see any change really with Repair Mode. At first, it seemed like there was an extra shine to my nail, but realized it's probably just the treatment on my actual nail.(Not an actual improvement of the nail) After doing some cleaning around the house that extra shine was gone.
I did have some of my nails rip/peel at the tip like they always have, & that was between both treatments. 2 of my nails chipped on my non dominate hand as well. Not saying these were caused by the treatment, but this is stuff I've dealt with for forever. So I just thought I'd see less of it.
The new growth I have does feel stronger, but I'm not sure if that's due to the treatment or just because it's new growth, & I haven't been applying gels, acrylics, etc.
Nail Envy does make it seem like your nails are stronger but after removing it, it's just the actual liquid shield. To be honest even during everyday life of cooking, cleaning, & washing hands, you could tell my nails were still pretty weak & not that much stronger. So, the feeling was no different to me then applying a gel over them.
Lastly, the Nail Envy smell is very similar to nail polish. So, if you're like me & you get headaches from that scent, skip this treatment. I felt so sick towards the end of the Nail Envy treatment.
Small update as of today that I'm posting:
I've continued the use of Repair Mode 4days more, & I do feel like some of the nails do seem more shiny & smooth. The shine isn't fading away like before, but just from a few nails. My left thumb & 2 middle fingers seem a bit stronger as well.
For now I will keep using Repair Mode in hopes to see even more improvement, & I will do my best to update you. As for Nail Envy, I don't think I'll continue just because I felt sick from the smell but it could still be beneficial for others.
Remember this was just my experience on damaged nails. I'm not surprised I have to continue the treatment.
