As you said in your closing remarks I also thought that it would have been a temporary fix with the piston heating up destroying the glue, I’m really surprised its still working after 40+ inflations, good job. A set of digital measuring callipers you could measure and find a nylon washer the correct size, 3D printed or JB weld.

I had this exact failure. Believe I overheated the pump and it stopped working making a racket. I used JB weld that I happened to have on hand and although I haven't pumped anything up yet it is running smoothly! My gasket seat on the piston was damaged as well and I had to use epoxy on it too. Thanks for the video!

Where on Earth did you find a replacement hose? Thanks.
@BuyitFixit Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if you could use a hose from a normal foot pump? I can't quite remember how it attached to the internals but if there was some of the original pipe left attached inside you could perhaps use a joint to connect to it?

Should pumps like these be lubed from time to time? I have a ryobi one and I it apart sometimes and spray lithium grease in the cylinder

What kind of screw head type did you use to loosing up the screws?

Can't 100% remember off hand but it would have been a torx probably a t10 or t20 most all of the Milwaukee stuff uses those.

@BuyitFixit2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I'm not sure on that one. Could try on the Milwaukee site to see if it's a part if not I'd try to get some kind of air hose barb fitting or something and attempt to repair myself.

Cheers for the quick reply…. Looking at your video I’d say I’d have to replace the hose and the part it’s connected too inside…. Think I’ll try and cut the brass tyre adapter off and replace it 👍🏼

I did it's about 1:15 to remove it is the same as all the other M12 tools. Just press the clips in at either side and then slide the battery out. Hope that helps!

Possible to use this on recharging the gas bottle in Milwaukee nailer? Enough pressure? Right connection?

Unfortunately I don't think it will go to 160psi? Even my large compressor only does about 90-100psi max.

My air pump instead of measuring the air thats in the tire just lets it out like a seal is broken would this repair do the trick?
@BuyitFixit2 жыл бұрын
It depends if the fault is the piston. You would need to have a look to see what the problem is first. It could be something as simple as a break in the air hose.
@Samson503 Жыл бұрын
The hose is broken. Follow those great video instructions and you’ll see a break in the line

That little ring was probably made of nylon and I would have 3D printed a new one out of nylon or if I needed some flexibility I would have used TPU. It's a very simple item to design and fast to print.
@BuyitFixit Жыл бұрын
Good idea👍. I didn't know you could get nylon filament. I've just bought a faulty ender 5 pro, fixed it, was just a replacement board so didn't do a video on it. So I've just started doing some printing again after not doing it for a few years.

can u blow air and remove dust with that example the pc etc ...?

I doubt it, it's pretty much the same as any other tyre inflator. You would need to use this to fill some kind of tank or spray can to do something like that.

@@BuyitFixit Great to hear! I was wondering about how gorilla glue would hold up under pressure/heat. Had the exact same repair on mine and used your video for the teardown (thank you!) I used JB Weld due to it's heat resistance and good adhesion to oily surfaces and had good results.

Thanks👍I've always struggled wearing gloves. Even when working on cars / tractors etc. I've only recently got some thin disposable gloves to try and keep my hands a bit cleaner when working on cars / tractors etc. I was giving my friend a hand today pulling his gearbox out of his Land rover to get to the crankshaft timing ring as it needs to be replaced.

Milwaukee makes it cheap to produce , expensive to sell, with no serviceable or repair parts so that u go and buy a new one. I would rather buy a Chinese chepo so I get a bang for my buck.

Shame belongs to Milwaukee for releasing such junk with such planned obsolescence/defects.
