In my business I come across a bunch of old leather jackets and coats. The little rips and discolorations put those jackets in a container in my truck and used for foul weather. The long coats are used for the nasty basements we clean out. My guys love it. The coats keep the shit off them and when done the coats are in with all the stuff we burn after a job. The coats and jackets save me big on cleaning protective gear and my guys like it to. Every now and then one of them wears a really girly jacket and we tease him. A good time for all.

Can you do a video for if the leather is on an item like a purse or chair and not a loose piece of leather fabric...so you know how to fix a problem when you have no access to the other side.

I have a leather jacket that had some tiny little holes on the back of it due to removing a large patch and I went to a leather repair shop and asked the lady if she could repair it and she laughed at me and said I've been in this business for 40 years, there's no way to do that and I said I guess you don't watch You Tube and walked out.

There are special oils, I used in such case castor oil (vegetable oil), but be careful. Light-colored leathers can be spoiled! Try it first on a prototype or on the inside of your clothes.

@@sewway i used glue to strengthen the edge line and watched a tutorial on stitching. Ended up using a baseball stitch and it looks sharp! I dont hide my flaws because that shows maturity. But then, its my own coat.

Thank you but this is not a tear - this is a cut - super easy to fix as it has straight edges unlike a tear - title misleading.
