I really wish I could get into board repair. Most of my customers don’t have time for me to take it apart and order the components I need(and sometimes can’t even find what they really are). It’s usually just faster and cheaper then me trying to fix it.

Its a time consuming endeavor to first get started into it but if you have time to kill at/after work, I would suggest to just keep high value bad cores and try to flip those for later use.

WoW! The board was so thick it required two hot air machines 🤯 im assuming it would be almost impossible to remove with just 1?

Yea, this is a flex pcb glued to an aluminum case. You can use 1 hot air + preheater but 1 hot air by itself is not going to go well.

From practice I can tell that it is almost impossible to solder large chips with grounding pad as cooling pad in one on these boards without preheating from opposite side. You even can't remove the damaged chip without preheating :(

Its same thing. The a version probably was just some minor revision they made to it.

@@ecurepair yes what I was hoping. Did find difference on spec sheet page 10 that's online for under voltage shut down differences. Otherwise looks the same. Thanks for info
