Ant messed up and put R134a in the A/C. Wasn’t available until early 90’s, should have been R12 unless he converted the system which wasn’t said on the show?

Very predictable: Comedy hand over of the car, broom in hand - Check Macho display of strength - Hood/Bonnet lifted off - Check Time saving voice over on technical sections - Check Irrelevant background stories of the buyer/seller - Check Used to love watching this show, but things have moved on. There's no shortage of how to technical videos online these days. So it's focusing more on the presenters and the more l see Mike the less I like him. They should stop making these shows.

I have just watched this on SKY TV and although I have respect for Ant I was appalled at what wasn't mentioned or done to this 30+ years old Alfa! I would have expected a FULL major service to start with, including replacing rubber hoses along with various metal clips and the engine bay degreased and cleaned. This in itself would improve the look of the engine and bay. When replacing the Soft Top I noticed formations of "Rust" on the framework. The new top was put in place with total disregard to said rust! This is unacceptable. Virtually nothing was shown of the condition of the interior and the bonnet/hood Alfa badge needed replacing as it was very faded. Plus a little thing that NEVER gets a mention are the main wiper arms. Do you just leave All of them in a faded condition? I can understand why Edd China chose to leave WD! Ant, do yourself a favour, don't renew your contract if these "shortcuts" are expected of you. Your a better person than this! Would I buy a car from Mike Brewer? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!

Fixing the differential is really difficult. You need a lot of experience. Fixing it without driving it before? I had a lot of cars like this. In this car, the differential is good. He just should change the oil. There are more parts that are weak. Engine mounts and gearbox mounts for exemple.

Thought I’d have a look after Edd had gone. Just curious. Ant seems a nice bloke by I don’t like his manner or the way he explains things. Not as easy to follow as Edd. Seems the segments when showing how to do something are briefer. And I just liked the way Edd spoke, a bit foppish but easy to listen too, and the way he went about his work. Don’t like this.

Sold out to an American audience and forgot about us Brits. As soon as Mike got to the states you knew this was going to happen. Chase the money and forget about the shows originality. Half of the 'work' is skipped now. Used to love seeing how to do jobs but seems like Mike and Ant want quick fixes. Edd used to rip out dashes on screen and do interiors, now we just have to make do with the finished product. SELL OUT!

All around the new guy is okay-ish, bit too much manicured for car work but I guess they want to extend their appeal to young girls and gays and there is nothing wrong with that. However the added bits of explanation for idiots really put it down and the end result feels like just-another-wheeler-dealers-copycat-programe. Quite like Topgear post Clarkson, Hammond and May.
