Thanks a lot for the hints! There was 1 set original replacement part in the box, but had no clue how to replace them. Now I managed to replace - of course will glue the old ones...

I suggest sewing instead of glueing - worked pretty well for me :-) fast and reliable

I had the same problem with my JBL headphones. Its a shame they definitely designed it to fail. I paid 200 € and after only one month it looked like this. My over 10 yrs old 25 € headphones never had that problem. They used strong leather and made it bigger to overlap. Edit: I buyed new ear pads, online for 23 € and changed it. Worked very well. Fixed

Thanks for the inspiration :). I think it is actually easier if you glue them inside out. Try to add as little glue as possible, otherwise you'll have a hard time turning them back around... If you start with a drop of glue halfway around the loose segment and repeat this a number of times in a row towards both sides, you can try and shrink it back together. This way you'll avoid the loop in the end. Edit: After all, the only way to fix this permanently is to sew the leather to the ring...

It seems like this is designed to fail, the overlap is so tiny, and it doesn't need to be at all. I was just trying to fix mine. I don't see any glue residue, I think the parts were heat welded ... so I got a hot iron, stretched the elastic/rubber part over a rigid cylinder (a drinking glass with some painters tape on it). I basically had the cushion inside out then on the end of my former (the drinking glass). It worked in that the parts were heat-welded together, the rubber/elastic melted into the fabric of the ear-cushion cover. However, the elasticity was ruined by the heat and so the ear-cushion cover is really-really sloppy. It still sort of fitted on, enough to use ... seems you had more success gluing it. I didn't glue it as I felt it needed a strong but elasticated glue, maybe rubber cement (as used for bike-tyre inner tubes) might work well? Good effort, thanks for sharing.

You should have stretched the rubber while applying the glue to avoid the overlaps.
