Mod feels a little undercooked at the moment but the potential is there. Normal Frosty is interesting, wish he couldn't fire tears at all and they made him into a "survival" type character that just needed to dodge enemies till they froze.

I generally don't like these characters. Sim's passive axe gimmick is bland, and his consumable axe gimmick on top of that feels redundant. Sim's unlock item is terrible, although it's all axe themed, the effects of the items themselves feel kinda random. On top of sim's birthright effectively amounting to absolutely nothing. Regular frosty has the most fleshed out mechanics, but it is only relative. You get a permanent drowsy effect for normal rooms and clear all of them for free? That's where i take the majority of my damage in the runs. You just get to ignore that? That's insanely broken. Hell, the gimmick has no effect in boss rooms, so you end up playing a normal character in those. Except said normal character is topped off on health because it's really difficult to take damage anywhere else. His birthright is nearly useless and doesn't provide any unique benefit outside of clearing rooms slightly faster, You already are at no risk in doing so, so this ends up being pointless Tainted frosty is interesting on paper, but his entire design is counter intuitive. He automatically extinguishes all fires, but to stay "alive", he needs them lit? And what his pocket item does is just that. What's the point? You can just activate it every room. There's no visible indicator of when he'll randomly transform, and his transformed form is literally just better anyway. You literally get flight, spectral tears, and free wisps. Why even go back to normal tainted frosty? He has no unique freezing enemies gimmick unlike the non-tainted counterpart. You end up playing a better version of the lost. You don't anyhow interact with the gimmick in an interesting way other than to press a button every room, and you're better off ignoring it and playing a direct copy of a vanilla character with free wisps AND hungry souls. The birthrights feel like such a waste, too. I'd hope sim's birthright at least affects the consumables and chargeables he's centered around. Maybe extra damage on the thrown axes? Faster charge speed on the chargeable axe? Bigger hitbox? A way to obtain them more reliably outside of killing the floor's boss? Or what if frosty's birthright made it so that his effect works on bosses for the first 10 seconds of the fight or so? Generally birthrights try to cover a character's weakness or enhance a character's established strengths in a meaningful way. These don't do that

For Tainted Frosty's Birthright, he should have a higher chance to generate wisps and even generate wisps as the non-lost form.

Honestly, Sim just seems like a generally strong, but really boring character, all of his stats are better (except for the one stat you would typically want lower), and he fires an extra axe every so often, no real caveats, but nothing actually interesting either. Frosty is just a free win button with Gnawed Leaf, as his one debuff… is pretty much ignorable, since he doesn’t really need to fight outside of boss rooms. Tainted Frosty has the right idea in an interesting hazard that makes gameplay unique… but it doesn’t really give a reason to actually play him, unlike most vanilla tainteds.

Death is cold, and ghosts supposedly make the air chilly, so there's that. Also, the tainted version seems to be more based around melting rather than freezing, with his ghost form possibly representing steam.

I don't get the whole "Frosty freeze free win", not only do bosses (What usually ends your runs) ignore it's gimmick, but do you know how LONG it will take for each and every single enemy to freeze PER ROOM? you will never hit Boss Rush or Hush

I'mma keep it real. The mod, in its current state at least, is on Afterbirth+ levels of dogwater; as well as on-release levels of buggy. Like, there's so much that COULD be done here, but there isn't. I mean, I guess it makes sense that it's called Repentance Negative- since it doesn't feel like it adds anything to the game except for maybe a few characters, a tainted version that's just meh at worst and stupid OP at best, and some other stuff like challenges, items, trinkets, etc. And all these things mentioned are just... soul sucking. I don't know, it just feels like they take the fun and joy of the vanilla game and mods of similar quality and stuff it into that delirium title screen to watch it all rot away. Yet at the same time, I want to like it. I want to harbor a soft spot for this mod. I can see a started mod. A mod that was developing in the womb for quite some time but was taken out because of some reasons that only the devs of said mod really know. I mean, if the reasons to pop the mod out was because of a due date, I can understand that. But at the same time, dates only hinder you if there's no real motivation or effort put into anything at all and/or that anything at all is just way too large. I don't like hating mods like this that have the potential to become something great, but ultimately come out like a doughy, undercooked loaf of bread. "Get to the point": Mod sux ass rn. Devs, pls take ur time & fix
