Friday 1/11/25 DAZA engine video. A couple weeks ago someone from another KZbin video had a major problem w/an C7.5 RS7 V8TT engine and they stated at the end of their video they were sending their hurt engine to REP for a rebuild. I was hoping to see it in an upcoming video on your awesome channel since there are NO videos anywhere of anyone rebuilding a C7.5 EA824 Audi RS7 twin-turbo V8 engine. If I lived in the UK, Rick is the ONLY person I would trust/ask to rebuild my RS7 engine. I think it would be an outstanding engine rebuild video to watch by the master!
@Key-j5o4 сағат бұрын
The RS7 you speak of was smoking but otherwise running ok-ish, so I wouldn't say it had a major problem. It could have been an easy fix not worthy of a video or possibly an upcoming video, I reckon.

Hey guys, I likely need a rebuild on my TTRS engine, CEPB era. I know it’s a long shot, but do you happen to know a good all-in-one builder/tuner across the pond? I want to make sure it’s done only once and done right. Since you’re so particular about which parts you use given the application, can you possibly shed some light on which internals should be used, and the best tune to pair with this engine? Most people go with UM since all other tuners have phased out support for the CEPB. Any help is appreciated!

Hey Ricky, can you explain why the 2018 R8 is "prime Audi" and the year of R8 to go for? You were talking about engines at the time. Thanks bud keep up the great vids cheers
@27badbwoy9 сағат бұрын
He’s on about the 2018 RS3 being prime Audi as it’s a Daza engine which only came in the 2017 and 2018 built RS3 . No OPF , and better cams than newer DNWA (2019 + ) RS3 engines .
@byronwilletts1019 сағат бұрын
@27badbwoy I heard him say about the rs3 but then was taking about the R8 said the 2018 was the version to get. I'm interested to know why 👍 I'm sure he's made a few vids on the different gens so might rewatch in case he's already covered the differences/benefits

Very interesting 50mins. With the usual good banter. Why do a bit of a tune, do it properly do it once, do it cheap do it all over again, properly. If you've spent time/money on a tune up maintain the bloody thing correctly.
@wandango5913Сағат бұрын
1st plug could’ve been damaged by whoever dropped the nut down there, either trying to take it out or leaving it for you. You’re not looking for dropped parts when taking the plugs out so could’ve damaged it with the socket.
@briancleminson615611 сағат бұрын
The number one plug hole had that random bolt down it, you may have broken the ceramic when you tried to fit the plug socket down the hole.
@fredmercury131410 сағат бұрын
I wondered that.
@REPerformanceUK9 сағат бұрын
I did think that tbh, but I watched it back and I don’t think putting the socket on the plug would be enough force to cause that. There is also ALOT of ceramic dust/debris in the bottom of the bore….

It was a diesel and getting the injectors out was not fun one wouldn't come out so unbolted it and turnd engine over on the key till it fired it out (van was out side luckily) It come out and went about 100 feet in the air I ran in the workshop as I new it was going to try and kill me 😅

Are the older CEPA engines as tuneable/ reliable for bigger power?
@27badbwoy9 сағат бұрын
Not as tuneable . Better off with a FL .
@scoob_dj9 сағат бұрын
@ what makes them less tuneable? I’ve seen some 1000bhp+ TTRS’s, what is it that makes them less tuneable?
@27badbwoy9 сағат бұрын
@@scoob_dj Anything can be tuned to a high state . It’s the cost that comes with it is the question . RS3 FL with its Aluminium block and huge stock turbo only needs intercooler , intake , downpipe and engine tune to make over 500bhp . So say cost is 4K . For the CEPA to achieve the equivalent , it would cost over double that amount due to having to upgrade the smaller less efficient turbo and fuel pumps etc . So yes CEPA can be tuned to a high state as long as you are willing to throw a lot of money at it .
@scoob_dj9 сағат бұрын
@ thank you, yes that’s what I was after, hence referring to “bigger power” where the turbo size difference between the two would be irrelevant as you’d be running something like a full frame instead.
@REPerformanceUK9 сағат бұрын
Yeah we have made the same power on the CEPA! The DAZA is just more developed as a platform, lighter and the cams are better!

@stephenrichardson610558 минут бұрын
I hazard a guess and this is coming from an HGV fitter upto 1999 I would say over fuelling or a bad spray pattern Used to happen in Rolls Royce engines in trucks Bad injector = knackered piston Would just burn it/blow it apart

Pallet trucks, true story. I got sacked from my Saturday job at Morrisons when me and one of my mates were racing them around the warehouse one Saturday morning. He threw something over his shoulder at me, so I threw a bag of sugar at him, which missed and hit the wall right next to the stairs door, just as the manager opened it to find out what al the noise was. The warehouse was above his office upstairs! 😎 I can still hear him scream “you two, my office, NOW!” five minutes late we were on the bus home! 😂😂😂
