Replace battery 2015 Buick Regal

Update: There was no issue with my 2015 regarding any issues with the computer when removing the battery. However, with the newer cars having touchy computers, the next time I remove a battery I will attach a constant 12v to the terminals before I remove them from the battery and leave them on until the new battery is attached.

If understand you correctly, I think the extra plate you may be referring to is called the "battery fuse block".
