I bench bled both my slave cyl. and the Master Cyl. Gravity bled the line. The system was bled and ready to go immediately without pumping it up and using the bleeder. It was amazing.

Thank you, I'm replacing mine tonight and didn't know how I was going to bleed it, or how much work it is to install! You helped me out a lot.

Make sure to check the firewall and pedal bracket assembly for cracks and metal fatigue. Thought my clutch system was shot, but turns out to be the bracket snapped off and can no longer support the clutch pedal while depressed. May the God of Welding be with me....

It's recommended to bleed the clutch from the slave cylinder which is mounted on the bell housing. With that hydraulic line removed, there is air in the line and the clutch pedal will feel spongy b/c air is compressible while dot3 is not. it's just as easy to complete except you need to get under the truck and access to the 'bleed nipple'.

I suppose this method would work to "bench bleed" the master for those of us without a bench mounted vise. Then one should also bleed it down at the slave cylinder.

Would it be wiser to keep the bolts loose until after the hard line is connected?

That is a good idea to keep in mind. In this case, there was good alignment so it was not much of an issue.

Evening sir. I literally just used your video to do the exact same replacement on an 86' Toyota truck I wanted you to know you skipped a step and so it didn't work for me right off the bat! Everything else worked out great but the channel lock you use the pin to connect it to the clutch arm has to be moved all the way out to almost the end of the arm! I noticed this after we bled the lines and still got no response from the clutch. I wanted other to know about this step! If you don't move the arm channel holder out to the end of the master cylinder you won't have enough tension for the clutch to work correctly. Thank you sir for the video it helped a lot. I hope my situation helps others

I can't get the piece to fit back in that connects the master to the clutch pedal. The side is all boxed in by the neutral safety switch. Of course thats the part you do not show.

I wish mine would bleed that easy. 95 taco changes the clutch 6 months ago it’s been fine slave went out two weeks ago then fine just changed the master and now I have nothing.

Not an easy job in a scion tc. I can't even see the bolts when I crawl underneath the dash.
