Replace headlight bulbs on VW Sharan 7N (dipped beam, main beam, side, daytime, indicator)

I normally buy my bulbs on eBay, in packs of ten - saves lots of hassle and stops you from buying overpriced bulbs from fuel stations. Here is some relevant eBay link that will give you lots of choices at a very good price - pack of 10 H7 bulbs (dipped beam and main beam):

What's your suggestion about xenon headlights for this vehicle. one of my xenon headlights had failed and not sure if I should attempt it or whether it is necessary to use dealer

I don't have any experience with xenon lights, sorry, never had a car with xenons. But, I wouldn't think that light failure is that big issue that can be sorted only by dealership (unless there's warranty that covers that). On the other hand - I might be wrong with my lack of knowledge about xenons :)

Hi. Do you know where the headlight control module/afs module is located in the VW Sharan. In the passat it is behind the climate controls but not in the Sharan. Looking to add high beam assist to the car after getting the new rear view mirror with camera

I add led light for day time running light and more often it dose give a fault code and one side is working and the other side not until I erase the code. What will be the option to add things to avoid a fault code keep coming please? Thanks

VW is really sensitive to any different electrical parameters of bulbs. You need to find something that keeps Canbus error free. Lots of cheap ones from Ebay say "canbus", but they don't actually work properly. I wanted led for my car too, but I gave up.

This model is second generation of VW Sharan (7N). First generation (7M) was produced from 1995 till 2010. It had couple facelifts (re-stylings), so VW called it Mark 1, Mark 1A and Mark 1B. Effectively it was the same car, but with upgrades. For some reason some people call facelifted version as a new mark. It's my bad too, for calling it Mk2 (I changed it to 7N now, on all my Sharan videos :) ). Not all VWs called by Mk, like Golf. For example Passat B7 is just a facelift of B6, and they both called 3C... Nightmare :)

WheelsAndMotors , I know, but technically you are right with Sharan MK2. Practically, we are confused with the facelift and we assume that was MK2, but oficial the Mk1 is : Mark 1/Phase 1 (1995-2000) Mark 1A/Phase 1.5 (2000-2004) Mark 1B/Phase 1.75 (2004-2010). So indeed, it’s a nightmare. :))

@@wawayltd That's the first time I have been able to find this information anywhere so thanks very much. I knew one of the sets of bulbs was H7 but couldn't find any info on the other set, I had no idea that both high and low beam used H7.
