Thank you for this video you really helped me out!!! I’m learning how to repair my own Chevrolet Spark 💖💖💖💖

Very helpful video. I am about to tackle this same task for the same reason (except error code is for cylinder #4 misfire) on a 2013 Chevy Spark with the same engine. Your video gave me the confidence to do this on my own instead of taking it to a shop. Thank you very much for posting.

Mines is the same now. Did you fix yours and was it easy?

You're supposed to push the spark plug into the rubber piece that's inside the spark plug socket. That's why it's in there. It may take a little pressure but it will go. This way you can remove and install spark plugs without them falling out of the socket. Easier than using magnets and needle nose pliers.

Glad you made the video. I think it is time for me to change plugs on my 2014 Spark at 58k +. Has a tiny skip when accelerating, so thought that would be a good place to start. I haven't put the OBD on it yet to see if there are any codes. Thanks again for the great video, it really helps to get ahead of it when starting into what should be an easy change out.

My question is what made you change them. I have same car 2014. 82,758 miles My problem I'm having is when driving my car it feels like its down shifting as I drive when I'm at 25 mph 39 mph and 55 mph. I thought it was transmission but 3 garges told me there nothing wrong with my transmission.

Not sure if your car is part of the Recall but you can google search GM recalls and look up your vin and see if there are any incomplete recalls. I had a misfire due to the faulty PCV sucking in oil, it messed up all sort of things. Just had the valve replaced but not the plugs because "they couldn't read the code" blah blah bs dealership money savings tactics. Anyways Good video and the spark plugs should be inspected/replace them every 20-30k miles (32km-48km).

Great vid.. Quick question. I have a 2016 Chevrolet Spark and changing the spark plugs and coils is really easy as well, but is it necessary to change the Spark Plug Wires as well!? I can't find a video on it?

I think high temp dielectric grease is the same thing if you have any around. It's just a grease that doesn't conduct electricity.

Question: when you tied the spark plug, you don't worry for the specific torque measure? I that a big thing or you just tied a little without worries? For me that was the main difficulty when I replaced the spark plugs...

I probably should have used a torque wrench 😬

@@fedorweemsch nice I'm looking for one around that year for work just to get around the city is your car the chevy spark active model?
@fedorweemsch3 жыл бұрын
Not sure about active. When I changed the transmission oil and filter the oil was very dirty. The car Manuel I think wants you to change the transmission oil every 40k miles there's 99.999% of people DON'T do this.
@fedorweemsch3 жыл бұрын
Keep that in mind when you buy the car. The CVT transmissions need good quality of oil or they wear out quickly. That's why they require a change every 40k

Looks like your engine is burning some oil by the looks of the other Spark Plugs. You should of tested the suspected coil pack on another plug to see if the issue follows it. Maybe would of saved you 140 bucks and you just would of replaced the Plugs only. Cause it looks like number 1,3,and 4 where on the verge of failing.
@fedorweemsch4 жыл бұрын
I moved the new coil around and same results... But with new spark plugs. there's no misfiring codes. On next oil change I'll pull the plugs and inspect them

@@derrickrayford6453 Because it is wrong info. Plugs do last a long time. It wouldn't hurt replacing them with some nice iridium ones at 50K or so as preventative maintenance though.
