I had to replace my first belt at 37k miles due to squealing and now at 61k miles the replacement belt is squealing. Dealership replaced the first one and I'm not paying another $260 charge for the next replacement. Going to do my own. Awesome video 👍👍

Daniel Pindell wow I feel super lucky to have only had to do this job once at well over 100k! Sorry for the bad luck. Maybe also check to make sure a pulley isn’t loose or something. Could be rubbing and causing belt to wear faster. And were you able to see replaced belts? I’m curious to know what type of damage they had! Keep me posted and good luck with your repair! 🍀

Do you still have the Nissan? &would you recommend that impact drill for working on cars?
@KandiceNTheMiddle3 жыл бұрын
I no longer have the Nissan. It was a great car, but someone ran into me. I would recommend the impact for larger jobs such as suspension work. But it is very big and hard to get into small spaces. Milwaukee is a great brand for power tools.
@InJulioWeTrust3 жыл бұрын
@@KandiceNTheMiddle I have the same exact one lbs and same color too .. I want a drill, I just don’t know which
@KandiceNTheMiddle3 жыл бұрын

Hi. How many miles were you at before you had to replace the belt?
@KandiceNTheMiddle5 жыл бұрын
Angie Berry I was at about 225k. However, I would suggest somewhere around 100k. At least give it a visual check around every 30k
@Angie-ih3pv5 жыл бұрын
@@KandiceNTheMiddle Ok....just curious because the dealership indicates "immediate attention" on my inspection slip! Im at around 69,500 miles . I feel like they just trying to get some money out of me.
@KandiceNTheMiddle5 жыл бұрын
Angie Berry well for the “premium maintenance” as per Nissan it says change belt every 30k miles. If you or someone you trust has a decent flashlight you can check the belt yourself for cracks, rips, tears, etc. Granted you can only see part of the belt but this may give you an idea of how it’s aging. It could be a defective belt that could have ripped sooner than normal. I would say take a second look or even ask for them to show you why it needs replacing.
@foreverrafterr58705 жыл бұрын
Angie Berry better to be safe than sorry, definitely get it replaced now to avoid future costs, I’m at 87k and I’m starting to get worried since its making a chirping sound every time I accelerate 😅

Chris V. Better safe than sorry is definitely a good motto. And yeah Chris I would say it might need some attention! Whip out the tool box! Let me know how it goes if you do it yourself!
