.....was that compressor pulley not rotating? Shouldnt that be free spining until clutch is engaged?
@backyardchevy3284 жыл бұрын
The pulley part is spinning, the clutch which is the front part of the ac compressor doesnt engage til the ac button is pressed..so if i had turned on the ac, the pulley plus clutch would of been spinning as long as it had enough refrigerant
@bahamastech1642 Жыл бұрын
Good video. Seems same layout of my March 2013 except mine takes a longer belt the 1165. A mechanic tried the smaller belt but couldnt get it on then put old belt back on, 1 week later belt broke in 2 and it broke the AC coil wire. Got a temporary 6PK1165 and a different mechanic put that on, said the pully bracket was bent so he bent it back. AC company changed coil and its been running bad and noisy since then. Waiting on Nissan factory belt - 7PK1165. Would slimmer belt possibly cause rattling noise as you gas it and more if the AC is on? Plus lack of power and extreme lack of power with AC on (before belt broke there was a little loss of power but not like this). Checked computer and no error codes or misfires. Engine does shake too much though. I might try and put the right belt on myself this time. Its very hard to reach though.

You're lucky that idler pulley nut came off so easily. Mine was tight and a open end wrench wouldn't do the trick and almost rounded it off. My Kobalt 3/8 drive ratchet wouldn't fit over the nut with the socket attached because the sheet metal of the unibody was too close to the pulley nut. My 1/4 drive fit but it broke when trying to loosen that nut. I ended up going to China Freight Tools to buy a push through style socket and ratchet set. It looks like a ratcheting wrench with sockets that are shallow and have a hex flats on thr outside. Spent more time messing with the damn splash shield and putting the wheel back on than changing the belt lol.

Thank you🙂 how far can u rotate it..if it goes past 90 it would be too loose or does it barely reach 90 degrees? I do it so i can barely reach the 90 degrees..if the rubbers new it shouldnt squeal if its at proper tension and installed in the pulleys properly

@@backyardchevy328 If the rubbers new, I assume it's the belt your referring too, I tensioned so I can barley reach 90 degrees, I mostly believe it's the after market belt itself because the OEM belt never made any squeaks, I am in the process of replacing the compressor clutch, the belt is out so gonna check the pulleys for abnormal noise and wobbling, it's night time at the moment, will jump on it tomorrow, once the pulleys are fine I was sold a poor quality after market belt, can you recommend a couple good quality after market belts, I live in Trinidad so hoping we good a couple of the brand you recommend, thanks for the quick reply, really appreciate all the video and all the help

@@backyardchevy328 it take alot more experience and tools to take the tire and wheel well off than just popping the hood grabbing a 13mm and ratchet or 13mm wrench and that's it. You should at least tell people how to know the right routing of the belt as in drawing a simple diagram.
