A good video with very helpful details for DIYers. You should disconnect the negative terminal as it is not safe to disconnect the positive terminal while keeping negative terminal connected - There are many KZbin videos explaining why.

I added a new belt when I did mine and I didn’t even need to tighten the belt tensioner as much as you did. Just tightening the alternator bolts is enough to tighten the belt

I just replaced mine and now it squeak's just like yours only when starting. You think maybe the belt is too tight or loose?

Mine squeaks like a squeaky bed when cold. Hard to tell whether it is belt or the alternator itself.

Good morning Scott! Any reason why you removed the positive instead of the negative terminal? Or does it really not matter? Thank you Sir in advance.

I don't think it matters. It might be safer removing the negative. Sometimes in removing the positive you wrench or rachet can touch the frame causing it to arc. I am not a professional mechanic, however.

If this happens you needs to spray the belt conditioner at the belt or just replace the new belt.

The drive cycle ,anyway, you gonna ruin the ECM of the car.Because you unplug the battery terminal.
