Had mine for a while now, the grip part has kinda become stained and the thumb sticks are also stained because I use coloured thumb grips but overall it’s perfectly fine, and it takes a lot of staring to see the discolouration anyway. As long as your fingers aren’t covered in chip dust and all yucky it’s fine

I ordered the exchangeable grips for the pro controller in that red color, and it looks so freaking good! Super minimal but it gave me the red pro controller that nintendo refuses to sell for some reason. I love that it included the necessary tools to do it as well! however, the screws I was sent did not fit the controller properly. This was not an issue as I just used the ones that came with my controller. Thank you ExtremeRate for making console modding so easy and straightforward. Very nice quality products! Thank you for sharing how to swap shells! I got the white shell, which fits perfectly to my oled switch. I never did this before, but everything works fine! Now i have a nice looking controller, that also feels better than the regular pro controller, because of the soft surface of the new skin. I'll most likely do this again, if i buy another pro controller.

I really wish that the orange screwdriver shown at the start was included, it is very difficult to install the shell with the one provided, and its extremely likely you will thread the screw. Its also very hard to get the screws out once you thread them. Luckily i was able to take out the screws and use a better screwdriver to add the shell. Overall the shell is really cool, just the screwdriver is the problem.

Yeah, easier said than done. I got my package not 10 minutes ago, with a broken orange screwdriver. I tried using it anyways, took out one screw, and the metal on the tip just disintegrates. I'm giving this a one star review, not because the parts were bad (I liked the shell replacement that I got for the pro controller), but because the provided tools suck and I don't have any replacements. With the amount of good reviews that this product got from other people you would think it would be a better product. I had really high expectations for this product and well... you can see where I'm going here.

Absolutely loved using this kit, went with the snazzy Emerald Green shell with green/purple buttons. Two tips I found useful when putting this kit together: 1. "Tight is tight, but too tight is broken! - (Don't over-tighten your screws). 2. Putting a small magnet on the end of your screwdriver really helps when taking the screws out.

I've been told ribbon cables are very scary to deal with theres a small ribbon cable at 3:16 and I'm not sure thats how there dealt with

There is a flippable blocking tab on the flex socket, flip it up to release the flex, and flip it down to lock it. We suggest you use a tweezer during the installation, it will make the thing easier.

Yeah just make sure the ribbon cable pins are fully into the socket and lined up so that they're making contact before you flip down the retention arm to lock it into place. Tweezers or tape can help to maneuver the cable into place.

Sorry to know that. In this way, you have to find a mini plier to vise the screw and twist it out, and this will ruin the handhelds of the controller :(

Pretty good tutorial! I got stuck at around 4:13 to 5:13 because the buttons were not clicking when the board was screwed in, but it turns out I had accidently put the button padding (the gummy thing that presses down the button) upside down LOL. The ribbon cable was a little finnicky to get down but I have relatively small hands, so it wasn't too difficult. The tools were kinda cheap though, it felt like the black screwdriver was falling apart at some times but I made it work. Overall a good shell replacement, thank you! Now I'll be able to distinguish my controller and my partners controller hahahah.

So I also ordered buttons that are LED. Can I install these new buttons (not activating the LED part) just as you put bsck the original buttons? I want a new color but don’t think my skill set is up to installing the LED part as well whilst doing this. There are another 2 reasons: 1. if you don't use the forward force while you twist the screws; 2. some of the screws were fixed really firm. During reassembly my ribbon cable for the shoulder buttons became undone so now those are the only buttons that don't work. As we test, the black screwdriver can unscrew all the screws of the Pro controller. If they sit really firm, please find a PH0 or PH00 screwdriver with a big handheld to do the uninstallation.

Hi! I followed the steps by step tutorial. I plugged my controller in and the orange LED lights up for it to charge. However I can't get the buttons to work 😣. I made sure the rubber membranes was on appropriately, I tightened down all screws (to ensure it was tight so there was contact with the controllers mother board). I did this process 3 times. I still can't get the controller to respond. The cable ribbon is attached appropriately and I endured that as well. I am unsure what to do beyond this :(. Update: I have the left controller stick to work. So there is a plus :) Any advice? I love the soft pink plastic. It looks beautiful.

Please try to use something (like papers) to help the battery sit tide to make the contact firmly. And you can test it before you screw back the controller back plate. Please keep us updated.

Got it all together and everything looks awesome...except the left stick control has my character sort of drifting to the lower left of my screen. @@X_Cuda_X As we found there is not necessary to use 2 different sizes of the screwdrivers, we've updated the package to one + tip screwdriver. You can use that one to unscrew all the screws on the controller, but please twist it carefully, hold the handheld tight and use a forward force before unscrewing it. Some pro controller side grip screws are sitting very tight, so if you found you can't unscrew it and can see any damages on the screw head, please stop it and find a professional screwdriver kit with PH 00 tip.

@@X_Cuda_X Factories love to put Loctite on the screws nowadays, that's why we got reports of stripped screws, they just too tight and our screwdriver handheld is too small to use enough force.

Does the surface get fingerprints, or does the soft finish wear down with use? I'm thinking of getting this exact one. Nice color and the texture sounds good.

If you choose the chameleon and the chrome series, fingerprints will be collected. And if the soft-touch paints, the duration is at least one year if you store it in a good place that is clean and wet enough

Some of the colors are soft-touch finished and some of them are glossy. They are not grippy but soft-touch is really soft and feels good when you holding it.
