Replace the whole wheel or tire on iRobot Braava or Mint EASY

Shows how to replace the whole tire - not just the tread.
NEEDED:
Two new wheels.
One smaller phillips or star screwdriver to remove the four screws on the bottom.
This is probably easier than retreading your old tires with new tread and glue.
I bought the wheels on ebay for about $17 USD shipped to the door.
Directions
Remove the four phillips screws on the bottom of the robot.
Twist the caps to remove them from the tires.
Remove the black axle clip.
Remove the silver clip.
Reverse the steps to put it back together.
The robot doesn't start at the end of the video because the mop is not on it.
I called iRobot - they did not offer me new wheels, but a discount on a new or used machine.

Good video. I actually fixed it with less pain by cutting half inch rubber ring from old byke tube and put it over old wheel. Work as a charm.

DON'T PRY OFF THE HUBCAPS! You'll break the tabs. They ROTATE off if you turn them *clockwise* (using the square depressions for grip).

Thanks for the video. Very instructive. And as Jeff writes, the hub caps come off fairly easily if you turne them off clockwise. Another tip is to use a magnetic screwdriwer, if you have one. I loosened all four screws and turned the robot upside down. Two of the screws stayed inside. One of them came out when I took the lid off. The other is stuck in there somewhere, so I only have three now. The robot works okay, only it's a bit difficult pushing the buttons now because of the missing screw.

The same thing happened to me but I found my screw inside the robot. The robot has some magnetic parts; try removing the under cover where the mop placed. In the bottom section where the springs are their is two magnets on each side.

You should probably peel off that plastic on that sensor diamond thing on top, it uses that to see the infra red points points from the navigation cube

When replacing top cover 4 screws, I found that over tightening them caused the front bumper to lock up so I loosened them and the bumper regained motion sensitivity.

Happened to me too. It's actually not as straightforward to get back together as it seems. First time the buttons were not quite lined up possibly because screws were not tight enough. After removing and tightening to address this, I encountered the bumper issue (too tight). After fixing this problem, I notice it won't charge on the base, but will when plugged in directly, so have a bad connection somewhere. I also lost one of the two front screws, inside the bumper. There is a gap between the entry hole and the screw hole that swallows things...and won't release them.

My unit is missing the half spheres on the "Floor Transition Sensors" (the two protruding things which you put your pad through). Anyone know where to get replacements or if they are necessary at all?

Hi, thank you for the good video and descriptions. I changed one of the wheels but after closing my Braava was moving only backwards! I loosen up 4 screws a bit, it got better now ( moving in every direction) now. But it’s not optimal like before. Will you be able to assist?

When you seat the new wheels on the axel make sure you push down all the way. I did not the first time and couldn’t get the black clip back on. Reseated the wheels all the way on the axel and got the clip back on right away.

I tried to replace the wheels on a braava 380t. A miserable failure. I highly recommend replacing only the tires. Leave the wheels alone. Easy to get unit apart, wheel covers off and new wheels on. Replacing the spring clip, super difficult. Can’t just slide them on. After many attempts, I lost both while working on a large white counter. They fly far. Where they went ?? Trashed it. Returned wheels to Amazon Now I get to buy a used braava m6

Made my own replacements out of 3M two sided mounting tape and Magic Tape over the mounting tape, will probably last forever.

Ugh! WAY too hard to remove the "hubcaps." I never did succeed in getting them off, either with the screwdriver or turning clockwise. Instead I peeled the tires off the new wheels and superglued them onto the old wheels. Unfortunately I had the same problem you see in the end of the video -- after robot was put back together, only the "on off" button worked! Solution: loosen all 4 screws. The bumper has to move easily and then the buttons all work again.

I followed the video. Replaced the wheels, but now after re-affixing the top, the buttons don't work. They are not making connection to the 'real' buttons on the board. What happened?? Please help!!!

I had the same issue, just like it happens in the end of the video: only the power button works now, not the other 2. The explanation that is in the description, about the mop not being in place, is not the right one. Without the cover the buttons work just fine. Did you find a solution? Thanks!

I had the same problem the mop and sweep buttons became mushy. They work, but barely.

Hi! I have resolved this issue. You should at first be confident what no wires between case parts, and second after you place upper part on bottom, you should a little bit "play" with bottom rear part of robot (that on springs) up-down-up-down a few times, and case get its place, and buttons start work! It works for me) P.s. I just turn my braava on LiIon battery, 4x14500x900mAh + one circuit from aliexpress. Braava works about 2 hours on it. P.p.s. You can change only tires on your wheels it isn't hard and less expensive.
