Replace Window Motor In 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500

Replacing a window is easier than you might think. This will work on both the driver and passenger window motors in the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup trucks. I also check the voltage at the motor power connector.

@@joezomby1 My window is struggling to finish the going-up process. I know it's just a matter of time, and I don't want it to NOT go up. But even if I can't get if fixed in time, I do now understand how the window works... and btw, I love how you twisted the tape to go over the frame of the door!

So you replaced the regulator as well? I only swapped out the motor and where it mounts looked very different despite being the same door frame. I've watched several videos and the one part that was needed most, was to not let the regulator fall apart when taking the motor off. That lesson cost me over an hr.

I believe the motor I purchased came with the regulator attached.

Where did you buy the replacement track and motor? Cost? Is there a preferred place that you order parts from?

The first one I got was an online parts store, the second one I bought from Amazon for about $40.

Excellent instructional video. It looks like you missed a bold on the left side middle of the regulator. Maybe not there in the first place?
