Great stuff as always. I remember the 1st time I replaced a firing pin and removed the backplate and the springs and parts flew everywhere. Never found 2 pieces and had to order a slide spring kit to get the parts. LOL

hey , watching your video is great Info , My redeye has code PO62A , is fuel pump most likely my problem , car had a slight surge when just cruising , and i knew something was off , and then miles later check engine and the code

Nice tips especially the tool part number and the clip info. thanks Pump and bucket looked pretty clean and the sock wasn't bad at all. using good fuel. That flex tube on the pump discharge is killing flow w/ turbulence would be nice if it was formed and at a grand (was that for a stock piece or aftermarket upgraded) I would have expected better.

Had the dealership replace my fuel pump on my 2020 scat when it had about 10,000miles on it. When at WOT around 5500 rpm everything would be fine but if I let off the gas completely and then back to WOT it wouldnt rev to redline anywhere near as fast, felt bogged down.

That's odd that the pump failed so early. Na cars hardly ever have pump issues.

After I got the car home from dying a few times, driving it around different places, gave me the typical small detected leak in the eve app system. It’s always been there. I change the purge valve also gave me for codes and all indicated to throttlebody low-voltage circuit ABD I think replace throttlebody still cranking, but not starting. I was wondering if it’s going to be the relay for the starter or the fuse or in fact, maybe just the fuel pump . I drove up to see him and let him know that the car was running funny and that one time I seen e85 on the ground when I filled up after I parked underneath the car below the seat. We took out the seat and we saw that the wiring was burnt connecting to the hat. I have no idea how that could’ve gone bad. He showed his son one of the mechanics. They put a new hat on and said it should still work, rewired, and Drolled some holes in the housing not sure maybe for a vint?? Iam more likely going to go see him so we can figure what the issue is it’s just 105 miles away and I don’t have AAA so tried to figure it out on my own but ready to take it in. But if it’s easier to replace it I can have a mechanic come do it at the house for me if you can tell me what king to buy so it fits I believe the hellcat ones don’t fit in the 2013 and if the they do they use just the motor and not the housing but I rather just buy the whole thing thanks

Dude, there should be no holes drilled anywhere near the fuel system. You need to get that car to a dealership have them put a stock fuel pump in it and have it put back on gasoline. This is one of the reasons why I tell people to only deal with the people that understand the car that they're working on.

Good evening Mr. Mason hoping you can help me with a couple words. I’ve been having trouble starting my RT after going out to dinner long cranks, but no start change the throttlebody and a few other parts, but still doesn’t start I feel and believe it might be the fuel pump as not too long ago the wires to the hat were shorted out and burn so I got a new hat. Could it be that my fuel filter is going bad or went bad and without calling my tuner because he lives so far away I run 85 can you tell me where I can go get a new fuel pump or what kind would fit in an RT because I believe the hellcat ones like everybody likes to put might not fit in the gas tank of a 13 RT . Thank you very much, sir.

Any Codes? Fuel pressure will need to be validated. Whoever tuned it for e85 can handle that. How did the fuel pump short out? And why are you running E85 in that car anyway? There's not enough compression ratio to Warrant it being necessary if I remember correctly I had said that to you before. Take the car back to whoever tuned it and have them get it sorted out. Run a stock fuel pump

My 21 charger HC is doing this now. 3k miles and fuel pressure is dropping from 80 to 50 at 6k rpm and falling on its face. Injector duty cycle also spikes to 122 when this occurs. And same as yours bypass valve opens and dumps all the boost. I ran 11.5@112 with this happening. Dude next to me in similar HC both of us on a tire, ran 10.9@126.

I have not seen his specifically, I do remember guys reporting that the 392 cam was not a very worthwhile swap. You might be able to pick one up for 50 or $70, I just don't see going through the hassle of swapping one out when an aftermarket camshaft would yield significantly more significant gains.

With your miles on the Hellcat being so low, is it common for the pump to fail that early? Are the pumps on the redeye the same as the standard Hellcat? If you werent data logging, how would someone know its failing?

I think the age of the Pump, 7 years old now, and the hundreds of passes at the track took their toll. The car would eventually not allow boost for any real length of time. The bypass would be opened at higher than allowed injector duty cycles. In short, it would stutter or fall on its face for seemingly no reason. That would indicate a pump which is completely shot. The redeye pumps are the same manufacturer, but there are two primary pumps instead of one.

What should fuel pressure look like on a 15 SRT 392 be at? I believe I'm having some trouble with my fuel pump as the engine is hesitating to accelerate every time I moderate roll on the throttle. I can hear the engine physically break up on initial tip in and feel the car jerk back and forth until it stops breaking up. Then she feels down on power. This is an intermittent issue though. It'll happen for a couple of days then stop for a few weeks. Though it does seem to happen more often when I fill up at shell for some reason.

Roughly 40 at idle, moving to 60 at WOT and tip in.

I've gotta keep a $4000 scan tool in the car at all times as it's a pain in the ass to datalog with the InTune 3 . Hopefully I see some supporting data. I truly appreciate every bit of knowledge you pass along to us professor B! Also can I make a special request for the live show tonight? Your thoughts on Direct Connection coming back and Z06 thoughts (though I know your stance on the C8 lol), thanks

B hi it’s bahi out of San Diego wanted to check in and let you know that the 5.7 is finally in the shop getting shortys slapped on and getting a E85 tune with upgraded hellcat injectors and fuel pump. You often here that a guy went to the races and ran his car for a few time slips and then drives to work the next day so like a still very reliable can that be me and is it hard to get the E85 start some times and is it all still worth Iam excited but nervous
