Most of them , you put the chip in there as well... Replace the cr1616 battery with all else and close it up

What about the chip that's built into the old shell to make sure the engine starts when turning in the ignition?

That’s gonna depend on the model. For my car the inside piece just came out and was easily put in the other. If there is a chip in there, and you buy the correct model, there should be instructions on how to change it.

The shell I bought doesn't have a compartment for the transponder 😢

You can actually order each piece separately from Honda if you wanted, with the correct case if your vehicle needs the chip you will need to get it programmed to start the car or else it just unlocks the car neutralizing the alarm

thx was wondering how the blade comes out guess you have to just break it apart on some models oh and i was able to reuse my H honda logo on mine it’s just stuck on with tape looks way better with the logo

not every car has one, my 2011 civic did not.

I did this but my now it only sometimes opens with when pressing the buttons to lock or unlock, it only works sometimes. Any idea why?

You have the battery in the wrong way
