great video in my expierience those replacemnt fobs were made out of really brittle plastic that broke very quickly. nice idea i just wish they were more durable

Ours has held up fairly well thus far. I can't say I love the design the the key/shell. It would be nice if the metal from the key went up into the shell for than a few millimeters.

I bought the kit. My screw was stuck and I broke the case trying to replace battery. Now it’s open but seems like the metal part is molded into the case. Should I just crack the plastic off?

You must make that very clear. Most have a separate chip built or set into the key plastic and car wont run without it.

Yeah, I probably should have done that. I do a lot of repair videos from the perspective of a first timer but there is a trade off. I might bring up issues a first timer would experience but I don't always get to the destination in the most proficient way.

I have a question the screw from my old key is stuck how would I get it out? The plastic on my key is only broken from the back piece not the whole cover so Can I just replace the screw and back plastic piece

I don't know if the old and new pieces would match up exactly. You could try grinding away the top of the screw with a Dremel tool. Then replace the entire shell. If you don't have a Dremel, a file might work.

The probability is low but never zero. 😂 Honda Civic IS one of the top stolen car models in the US. I don't think this model is all that appealing to a thief. My favorite part about the Civic is that there is an anti-theft code you have to enter on the radio if you disconnect the battery. It's pretty laughable to think someone would want to steal a Civic radio.
